You know...fielding errors and throwing errors and all of the other things during the game are mostly things that you can't control all of the time. Those things happen. ...but getting runners thrown out by a mile is something that you CAN control! This is BASIC BASEBALL.... NEVER....EVER run yourself out on the basepaths... Poor, poor baserunning on our part.
base running has been a weakness for us all season.... I just wonder what these guys do in practice... i would hate to think they just hit the cages and leave, but that is sure what it feels like.
we sucked at baserunning ALL YEAR long. we are lucky that NW has GIVEN us this game... like a present.
It's almost like you're either a "power-hitting club" or you're a "speedy" club and runs the bases well... For some reason, you never seem to have a club that is both. Why is that?
How bad has autrey been all year at 3rd sending and not sending runners? Is there anybody else we can send out there that maybe can see?
Tell ya what... look at GTech, although the ACC is very overrated, they have a great offensive balance of power and speed.
