no, its not about losing..its about a given pitcher's mentality as to whether they pitch better as an opening day pitcher or one who would prefer not to be the day one starter. Im sure Smoke sees Meier's mentality as the one to do it. he's given up a ton of hits but he is finding ways to keep us in the game. errors are whats really killing him.
