First year since 1974 lsu doesn't have a returning RB with a touchdown. No proven QB and no security blanket at wr. 10 returning starters. 5 on each side. For Miami, Malik Rosier is a sr threw for 3000 yards last year but really struggled at the end. Won their first 10 lost their last 3. But he's barely over 50% completion so our secondary needs to feast. Their defense could carry them like ours is supposed to. 16 returning starters for them 8 on offense 8 on defense. Lost their stud RB at least. We need a defensive score and a special teams play setting up another. Looks like everyone has us for 17 points and that's where I'm at. Pray the defense is as good as advertised. Lsu 17 Miami 16
We only return 7 offensive TD’s...... 3 by Moreau 2 by Sullivan 1 by Carter 1 by Brennan Sullivan, Carter and Brennan aren’t even starters. That’s not a detrimental issue for the season, but a terrible situation to go into week 1 against one of the top defenses in the nation. If we had a warm up game and played Miami week 2 I’d pick us to win. Too bad we’re not playing Northwestern State
Just looked at Miami's 2017 record for the first time, WHAT A WEAK WUZZY SCHEDULE! Now will predict an LSU win by 10 to 14 points. They will finally see what it's like to play in the SEC West. Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn now and then. Playing them at a neutral site first game is an advantage for us I believe. They have not seen a defense like ours with the exception of Clemson, Clemsons defense only allowed one field goal no TD's.
I dont know how well they travel but Dallas has a huge LSU alumni base. I could easily be led to call it almost a home game for us.
Miami is a small expensive private school so our fanbase dwarfs theirs. Only a small percentage of Canes fans actually attended Thuh U. The rest are bandwagon fans who jumped on when they were dominating. On Coach Oeaux's radio show last night the Evil Twin mentioned how our 40-3 Peach Bowl win sent the Canes into a decade of irrelevancy.
