Even though I'm safe in McKinney, TX my fams in from Houma, and I am not sure that my home didn't just become their new home.
I'm here in Colorado, good luck to all! Looks like this is a biggie that is not only going to have a big impact in Louisiana but Mississippi and Alabama also! What a monster! My mom and dad are in Baton Rouge, Our relatives left New Orleans yesterday. I have family in other areas also such as Hammond! I've been switching between Fox News and the Weather Channel all day!
Happy Jack checking in, Sir! I been drinking for eight hours now. It's me and one other still left in Happy Jack, old Fella, one fine retriever. We both say Bring it, Bitch, too. I still say Port Fourchon & Cocodrie get the eye along with Houma (Sparing New Orleans). It'll have to come dead north now to wipe us out. It won't! Just you wait and see. I don't know how long we'll keep communications & power, the rain's starting to get really heavy and the wind's picked up too down here. It's here and it's a big one. It's gonna be hell to pay for Louisiana. Disasters have a way of bringing folks together. For those of us Tigers that don't make it, what say the rest of us gather together and WIN THE WHOLE THING IN 2005. DON'T LET THEM CANCEL THE NT GAME!! :geauxtige LSU! :champs: :helmet: :geauxtige  :champs: :helmet: :crystal: :crystal:
Lucky bastard. :hihi: Good luck down there Wingman, and keep us posted if you can. Otherwise, take care of yourself and the retriever. :thumb::laflagwav
Thanks, MD. I got plenty of my old pal Jim Beam aboard for this one. The only thing worth a damn that ever came from the state of Tennessee outside of Andy Jackson. We just had a little squall line (the first) pass through & it's coming NO way. Wind's about 50 mph with that sidewise rain. :hihi: Nothing to get excited about, yet.
Man, if Jim Cantore had any stones, he'd be sharing that Beam with you, and broadcasting live from Happy Jack!!! Where are you, anyway (like what kinda building?)
 You're all right, Gyrene. Were you alive when Camille hit in '69? I was dropping nape then over the Nam highlands.
yup, we took off, didnt want to, but we did. Im in columbus mississippi...still in the storms path. my house is in slidell, im really nervous about it still being there too.
I'm in my camp about 18 feet above sea level. It's one of the oldest in Happy Jack, survived Camille and the rest. This old cypress is hard to kill, just like the heart and soul of the bayous it comes from.
