dantheidiot is right. I just spoke to Miles and he told me that the way the play was drawn up, Bama defenders were supposed to stand around and let JR stay in the pocket. It was poor execution by Bama that "busted" the play.
Coach Miles and assistants are doing a fine job Anyone who thinks that talent wins over coaching need only check out what Steve Spurrier did this weekend and, as a negative comparison, what Gerry DiNardo did in his last three years. Coach Miles may not be the one who is actually coaching each play on game day, but he is doing something very right; choosing strong coordinators and assistants and letting them do their job is something you have to be happy about (again, compare to DiNardo's micro-management). There is no way that those guys are running onto the field and organizing themselves into winning in the Southeastern Conference. We'd be 9-0 had Katrina not happened, I believe, and I am thrilled. Coach Saban will always be my favorite LSU coach, I believe, but I think Coach Miles deserves all the credit he is given for picking up where Saban left off. It's actually harder to follow a legend than it is to take over a problem program. I wouldn't trade Miles for any coach in the country right now, because I don't like Spurrier, Carroll, Brown or Tuberville, the only other coaches I think are as good. :geauxtige
