Born in N.O., raised in Slidell and Nashville. After college moved back to Nashville to make a livin'.
Chicago, IL -- from south Louisiana (SoLa) now living in northern Illinois (NoIll) Here are two very recent LSU fan stories: Last Saturday after the UGA game I was at a Wilco concert in downtown Chicago. I was standing in the beer line when I heard two guys talking behind me and one said, "So, you grew up in Louisiana?" I started talking to the guy from La. and discovered he is an LSU grad from Maurepas now living in Chicago. Two weeks ago on my long Southwest trip to New Orleans I sat next to a guy on the St. Louis-Houston leg. We got to talking and turns out he is an LSU grad and was heading home to Houston after working in St. Louis for the day. Small world.
Born in Greenville, MS but raised a few years in the metropolis of McGehee, Ark (no hospital in McGehee). Moved to BR at a young age have had stints in Germantown, Tn (Memphis), Daphne, AL, and Decatur, MS........all having return trips back to Baton Rouge in between where I have now settled and will never leave. Best LSU fan encounter. I was at the Biltmore in Asheville, NC touring the house. There is one room in the house that is decked out in purple and gold. When I enter this room I say, somewhat muffled, "Geaux Tigers". The person in front of me responds in kind and was an LSU grad as well..
Last year I was in South Florida and I went to a Florida Marlins baseball game. When we got to our seats the guy sitting next to me was wearing a purple LSU jersey. It turned out that he was from Pittsburgh and was a huge Steelers fan but he didn't really follow college football. He just liked the jersey.
McKinney, TX Grew up in Baton Rouge across the lakes from campus. Used to listen to the games on the radio but could hear the crowd cheer thru an open window. Years ago I was on a college field trip in New York City during the thanksgiving holidays. A group of us stopped in a bar to watch the LSU game. In walks an older guy looking for the LSU game as well. Turns out his family was in town on vacation and they were staying in a nearby hotel. He left the family at the hotel and settled in to watched the game with us. Unfortunately everyone else in the bar was there to watch a boxing match so off went the Tigers... Fortunately it was Tyson and 91 seconds and a half dozen replays later the Tigers were back on... TigerDog007, Welcome to Collin County, soon we will have enough folks to start a second LSU watching spot. Geaux Tigers
