to get a picture of our defense. I compared these stats with Bama, Auburn, Clemson and Wisconsin. Four stout defenses though Wisconsin being the only team in the bunch that is a ground and pound offense.
LSU D has given up 1280 yards on 272 plays for an avg of 4.7 ypp.
    Bama - 1016 yds, 267 plays = 3.8 ypp
    Barn - 1267 yds, 272 plays = 4.65 ypp
    Clemson - 986 yds, 261 plays = 3.77 ypp
    Wisky (3 games) 514 yds, 162 plays = 3.17 ypp

People have argued that the stats reflect how long our defense is on the field. Our D has played the same number of snaps as Auburn with comparable yards allowed. Auburn offense has only had one game where their TOP was under 31 mins. LSU has only had one game where our TOP was greater than 31 minutes. Our TOP avg around 28+ minutes per game and Auburn ~32+ mpg. Bama ~ 30 and Clemson ~27. The Badgers avg a whopping ~37 mpg.

The big difference is in points allowed. LSU is allowing 23.25 ppg and Auburn only 15.75 ppg with nearly identical number of snaps played by their defense and yards allowed and a tougher schedule.

So our defense probably isn't as bad as it has looked but still has a long way to go to be SEC ready. Aranda has some work to do the next two weeks.

Take 14 points off our total points.

    So that's 19.75 ppg.

    For a team scoring 58, that's a good number.

Reasons our defense is not playing elite
    1/3 injuries
    1/3 fast paced offense
    1/3 poor play

Pretty sure most of the criticism has been about comparison to recent LSU teams of past rather than other teams.

Also, poor DL recruiting from 2017-2019.

    Great stats ...

The only really important stat is ppg ...
23 is same as last year ... no improvement

So we have last year’s dee with this year’s offense ... After 4 games where we were not 100% and still too beat up from Fall Camp and playing that offense in 4 scrimmages

    Good week off ...
We got two ankle injuries additionally with JJ and Divinity

Utah State ... a good scrimmage

Time heals all wounds ... We’re 99% ready when Florida rolls in Oct 12

"Have another LSU Tastee Cake on October 5th! Mighty powerful schedule, we just tackled! Whew! Need to rest up! Next up? That scary team from Utah, a team we like to call Utah State. (Akron Zips were busy). Can it get any better than Mormon Aggies?" - Joe

He collects Oeaux’s seminal fluids for you.

We’re glad you keep posting keep up the good work and we’ll feed you tid-bits of tasty tripe and choupique swimmin in a sassy “sauce”

He is structuring Oeaux’s new raise and bonus package and leaves LSU when this has been completed later this year ...

He is in charge of the Fundraisers for the Transgendered Alumni, as you know, as you’re the Treasurer
