That's what makes it difficult for those of us who can't justify paying the outrageous prices for a ticket...we'd have no intention of reselling them if we could just get our hands on ONE for a reasonable price.

I agree, this is a game many of us have been waiting our whole lives for. We've been with the Tigers through good and bad, defended them against all of the people who hate LSU and are biased against Southern Football.
This is a definative moment in LSU history, and it sucks that all 4-500k people who wish to be there can't be there at the same time.

In two seconds flat, I'd have paid $150 dollars for tickets to the Sugar Bowl. I'm all about life experiences, etc, but my heart also sank when tickets were being offered (and there were PLENTY of offers) for $1000, plus.

Could I pay that if I WANTED to? Well, yes. We all have credit cards. But I can't justify it, either--especially when my husband graduated from North Texas. How could I justify spending what would amount to a year's worth of college tuition for our daughter to attend my alma mater's bowl game?

I'll be watching in Dallas. But wishing I was in the Superdome.

I was in a burger joint in Plano last Saturday when a fellow in LSU gear walked in with his family. We talked about the Sugar Bowl, and he reported that he would also be watching at home. He joked (I think it was a joke) that it wasn't worth getting a divorce over.

    GET TOUGH, PEOPLE

I must qualify what I am about to say with the fact that I have 2 tickets to the Sugar Bowl; I got them through the LSU lottery, so I paid $312 for the pair.

BUT- if I had not won the lottery, I was prepared to spend $2000 on a pair. I love the Tigers (as does my wife), and they are playing an hour and a half from my house for the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. If they were playing for the NC in the Rose Bowl, I would have to buy plane tickets, get a hotel room, AND buy expensive tickets. This year, JACKPOT, the game is in NO. Even at $1000 a ticket, this might be the cheapest chance any of us has to see the Tigers win a NC. 20 years from now, I would hate to be sitting in my house watching the Tigers play in the Peach Bowl, talking about the "good ole days" when the Tigers won the National Championship, in the Sugar Bowl, while I sat in my living room.

Max out the credit cards, put a 2nd mortgage on the house (I did, just in case), but unless you want to be left out of one of the greatest moments in Tiger Football history- GET TOUGH. You aren't gonna find $200 to this game.

i dont think I would pay more than $300 bucks for a ticket to anything....unless it was like heaven or something......regardless of what the face was thats too much money for me to drop on something that isn't permanent. If i was rich and i had tons of money then i prolly wouldn't think twice about $300 bucks.....but even being so rich, i still wouldn't $30000 for a suite on ebay or even $1000 for a ticket......its just a matter of principle for me i guess....

Prices will come down as people get their tix in hand and start to think about the $ they can get for 'em. More supply means lower prices- at least that's what they taught me in Econ @ LSU.

It doesn't matter what the supply is if the demand is greater than that supply.

Don't know about that. Scanning the Ticket Exchange, it seems there are more people holding out for "cheaper" tickets than there are people selling tickets.

The BIG problem with this ticket is that EVERYONE who got tickets has good friends who want those tickets. We still don't have enough for everyone in our tailgating group. We're trying, but it doesn't look good. Eventually, those who didn't win the lottery will either have to put up the $$$'s or sit at home.

    You are right,
there will be thousands of our fans outside the stadium hoping for tickets at or near face value. I just don't see many of them scoring tickets. Too many of us have been waiting for years for this game and tickets are too scarce. Anyone who may have extra tickets has a long list of friends who want them.
Hopefully, this is the first of many Bowls where Tiger tickets are so valuable.

I paid $1200.00 for two tickets so my wife and I can geaux. She wanted to geaux but had said if I wanted to geaux with friends to avoid paying for her ticket also that would be fine. NO WAY! Shes a big fan too and while some may scoff at $600.00 for a three hour game I have to say that the memory of attending that game will last forever.

also, I have to compare this to my normal game weekends. i live in Orlando so I often pay $600-$700 for airline, rental car, & hotel to each home game.
