Brent Venables is not his freaking graduate assistant, he's the co- defensive coordinator. Now the defensive coordinator. Get your facts strait.
I could give a chit..... I made a comment on SC's board that I thought LSU was slightly better and friggen' got called every name in the book. Buncha whinney a**ed punks. SC Fans truely suck. Funny thing is, I like SC (I lived in SoCal for awhile) but I'm from here, graduated from LSU and live here now, so my loyalty is first to the purple and gold. Unless LSU is playing SC, I generally root and support SC. Those whiners quoted every SOS, BCS arguement that they could to me. Now, their tune has changed that the BCS doesn't matter and the only thing that counts is the AP poll. Screw 'em....They (SC fans) knew the rules. They need to STF up. They are 3rd in BCS poll. Too bad. I admit I still like their team and think they are very good, but the fans are the worst. At least when you go on other boards, you can have a conversation, the SC fans are so arrogant, they immediatly start the snide "swamp" and "trailer" comments. Glad I moved back here. I hated the "SoCal is the center of the world" mentality then and I hate it now.
If I was Pete I would feel pretty good as well. The media just told him that they are playing in the national title game and he only needs to beat a two loss team in the Rose. Bullshit. LSU and OU are playing for the national title. I can live with a split title, but not this Rose Bowl is the real NC game this year crap.
Re: Re: Thoughts on Pete Carroll You are forgetting the voters who voted OU number 1 and number 2...15 points is nothing in the AP, and if we win we probably would rob a couple of first place votes from them. I think the emails worked or we might not have gotten some of the voters attension. Still, USC had 500+ yards put on them...geez
under the circumstances i think he handled the situation w/class.i would not want to be in his shoes explaining to his men why so cal is not playing for a shot @ the title.
I'd rather have Stoops' "defensive coordinator" being interviewed on TV, that means that either 1) he's not really in control of the defense or 2) Stoops doesn't trust him to run the defense with so much riding on the line. Looks like our offense will have fun shoving that ball down OU's throat.
This is where you are wrong, and where a coach like Saban is correct. He needs to make sure his team first of all beats Michigan and then he can start yapping about polls. His lack of focus on the real issue (Michigan) is ridiculous. If they take care of business, then he can make his case.
