And just think, if it weren't for Utah, Boise St probably would be in a BCS Bowl or damn near in one. I don't think a team that plays a schedule like they play should be in the top 10, but the coaches vote them that high, not just the writers. Would be nice to see them play 3 real good BCS schools to prove they can beat more than just one BCS team IMO before ranking them so high.

On the same token you don't think BSU should be penalized for playing in a weak conference, why should teams such as LSU and UGA be penalized (kept out of the BCS bowls) for playing in a tough conference. If you compare UGA and Boise State you would most likely come to the conclusion the UGA is a better team, but UGA is being left out because they play a tougher schedule. So if you argue the Boise State is being penalized for playing in a weak conference, you must also acknowledge that UGA and others are being penalized for playing in a tough conf.

We arent penalized... our conference gets an AUTOMATIC bid... the way a non BCS conference team has a chance is going UNDEFEATED.

Where did I say BSU shouldn't be penalized for playing in a weak conference?? And how is that on the same token? I think you are confusing your arguments with different posters. Maybe you should limit yourself to one flame entanglement at a time hehe.

LSU would kill Boise St. Sorry, but Nick Saban's defense would make it hard for them to score more than 2 TDS and LSU would surely run the ball down their throat. Do not forget that LSU has only given up 18 points in the second half of the last 6 games, and in four of those games they gave up 0 second half points. That of course averages to only 3 points per second half in the last six games and for the season the average is only 5.5 including the 6 OT points OSU scored. LSU would also beat Utah for the same reasons. Utah is a good, unbelievably sound team, but there are 3 defenses in the nation who would make their heads spin, USC, OU, and LSU. That being said if Utah is paired with an average defense opponent in the BCS they have a very good chance of winning the game. LSU for the season has only given up an average of 16 points per game, with the 45 point drumming by UGA, and I do not think that many teams in the nation could prevent LSU from scoring at least 3 TDs right now, particularly Utah or Boise State. Many people forget that LSU is one bad call from OT with Auburn in which a win would have put them in the SEC Champ and probably the Sugar Bowl.

The whole point is that it's much harder to go undefeated in a BCS conference. Not to mention that it seems that those "going undefeated rules" are starting to apply to non BCS teams and not just BCS teams.

I just quoted the wrong poster, but all of your arguments seem to parallel eachothers, so I make no apologies.

No its not.... All the teams in the WAC and MAC etc... have equal recruiting as their fellow conference opponents.. you put them in a BCS conference you get better recruits... its just as hard for a small school to go undefeated against others as it is for LSU to go undefeated against equal recruits in the SEC.
