Your quote is what got to me more than the article. 1958 was the BEST thing that ever happened in football and LSU in general(Maravich would be very close). Will there be fans that do take a NC game as a birth right, sure will. But most of these are the same guys who thought we should be winning the SEC every year before last season ever happened. Most LSU fans will be pretty level headed. But to say we should accept mediocrity is wrong also. Several 8-4 seasons wouldn't cut it in IMHO. Like I said, Saban can stay as long as he wants as we know that he will always do what is best and we also owe him a great debt. But I know I don't ever want to go back to where 8-4 was seen as a good season. I expect that we will have some of those but they won't be considered as successful.
