I thought Jimmy Clausen was. You see how that's working out for him...

here lies the problem with your thinking.Everything is not yet all said and done. There is another capable qb on the team who has not yet finished his legacy here at LSU.Why is it so hard for you to let him have his chance to make a career?

he's not better than RP, that's why. the best players should be on the field. why is it so hard for tigerforums to agree with that?

See,we at tiger forums are up for debate on most anything relating to LSU.What we are asking you is to tell us(with statistics to back it up)what makes RP better that MF.

Because the coaches have a lot more info and are around the players a lot more than members of TF. Why is it so hard for you to agree with that? All you can bring is what RP has done in high school. That is weak. If that's the case I want JL to start. :nope:

Step away from the straw man.

No one is saying that the best players should not be on the field (unless they commit crimes or are injured :yelwink2: ).

What we are disagreeing with is the notion that RP is a better QB than Flynn at this point in his career. I think RP is more talented and huge potential, but he's raw and needs a bit more discipline and experience before becoming the leader that Flynn is. Raw talent does not equal "better". Why is that so hard to understand?

I agree with you that he appears to be more athletic but I don't believe he has the leadership Flynn brings (Though it's much improved as of lately- players have stated that RP is much more "Mature/focused" in the huddle) and the experience not necessarily from direct playing time but from being around a big time program for 5 years.

Just in one year, I can imagine how much a college football player can learn breaking down film.

Josh Booty and Brock Berlin were pretty good HS QB's too. I'd rather start a one-legged Matt Flynn over either one of them.

IMO, the spread option isn't gonna work against UF. They have the speed to stop it. Plus, they have practiced against it for the past 2+ years. Power running and play action passes is the way to go.

Flynn starts, but if he starts sailing passes to the point where UF loads up the box or if our OL can't protect him, then put in the more mobile guy.

how can rp have better stats when he hasn't played anough to compare his stats to flynn's? all i know is when RP is in the game our offense becomes FAR more dangerous, and he puts fear in defenses.

Man, you will say anything. Just compare stats from this year while he was in compared to that of Flynn. Not too complicated.

I actually agree with you on some of your junk. I do believe he will be one of the greatest QBs in LSU history. He is a very confident kid and that in itself motivates everyone around him. However, Miles & Co. know his abilities better than we do. Flynn has better knowledge of the offense and is a great leader himself.

Off the wall comments about HS and what not will not cut it. Add some substance and I am sure others would like to join you on your position. Right now your position is hazzy and broad.
