i was stunned that lsu has two GUARDS that pass up open 3s. you must keep shooting. i dont want post players shooting those much, but all ball-handlers must always shoot open 3s. im not talking about having a step on a defender, but when the d collapses and leaves you alone. a decent high school player should hit a third of those

I chalk that up to youth and inexperience. Once they become confident that the shot will hit, they will take more shots.
