The thing that I am hoping for most is that now that Fisher is gone, we will see the game management improve and then I can like Miles from all angles instead of still doubting him for that. Please let the gameplans and playcalling be Fishers fault. By the way, the Crowton hire may be the best move Miles has made since he's been here.
Us fans will never be happy with every game plan, there will always be games that are closer than we think they should be and of course a loss here there. And many of us will blame the loss on the gameplan or game decisions. There's no getting around that. And there isn't a coach in the country that is immune to this.
i'm still on the fence like you used to be but i'm leaning a lot towards miles. i think the 2007 season will be the true test. high expectations combined with the odd-year schedule, i think the SEC title is very realistic next year.
agreed, i think most rational tiger fans know that gameplan and refs did us in at auburn and all the player mistakes destroyed us at the swamp.
How many "true tests" is Miles going to have? I've heard this on at least 10 different occasions. Wasn't winning the SEC West his first year supposed to be the "true test" Wasn't winning the Miami game last year the "true test"? Or how about getting through this season with an 11-2 recored, considering the brutal road schedule, as being the "true test"? What about winning a BCS bowl? That wasn't the true test? Y'all got to stop moving the measuring stick.
 You know better than that. People like to rationalize until they convince themselves that the very best still isn't good enough. We could win the MNC next season and people will still doubt.
when i state an opinion, it's not my declaration of how every tiger fan should feel. it's where i am at this point and time. there are people more critical of miles than me and there are those that have 100% confidence in the man. i'm somewhere in the middle but like i said i'm leaning his way more and more. as far as the things that you've listed above, i'm more about the big picture. 2007 will be a team almost devoid of any of saban's players. the team is now lacking any of saban's coaches. although the schedule is still brutal, most of the big games are at home. things are dropping into place for miles to be the most decorated LSU coach of all time. if miles can continue to recruit despite the increased competition, and continue to compete in for the SEC title every year, and continue to finish strong like has has in his previous two, i don't see any reason why i don't fall off the fence like islstl. everyone doesn't have to drink the kool aid at the same time...:thumb:
You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but one of the great things Miles has done is to win more with Saban's players than Saban did (or probably would have). IMO, that would be the Pelini hire.
yeah, you're right about pelini. i was psyched about lane too. it's hard to say how much saban would've won with his own players had he been here. i figure once most of the saban guard has changed (2007 more than ever), it would be a fairer assessment of LM's progress.
I agree the Pelini hire was huge, and has been very good for us. But The reason I say Crowton may be the best move is because his offense is one that could make us Spurrier like. Adding that to our defense and the Tigers will be very scary.
