You talk like someone with a I love Curley bumper sticker, and I guess you were one that cried when Dinardo was sent packing. LSU fans shouln't be satisfied with any athletic program that only sniffs the top 25 once every 4 or 5 years. There are many reasons our basketball program has been down, some Brady's fault some not, but fans don't have to be satisfied with a team that will be very close on one side or the other of the cut when the 64 teams are chosen. With 64 teams getting in fans should be able to expect LSU to be there most of the time and not as a one million to one long shot to win it either.:geaux: :lsug:
That is an excellent post, Tejas...and I think it sums up the problem very well. When Coach Saban brought home the crystal football, I predicted (in anticipation of another trip to Omaha and possibly winning) that no matter how well Coach Brady did, this, as well as the success that Smoke was going to have was going to put some heat on him. We've become so spoiled by the success of the other programs around campus, that an 18-20+ win basketball season is no longer enough...we want to have it ALL.
Nothing at all...in fact, I say keep on keepin' on. But we shouldn't have unrealistic expectations, either. Remember, there are a lot of schools out there that would love to have an 18-8 basketball team that is headed for the Big Dance, and has the budding talent that this squad has.
You can hang some people with a new rope and they would still bitch because it wasn't oiled enough to drop easily. GEAUX TIGERS!!!! :geaux: :helmet: :lsug: :helmet: :geaux:
mediocrity all of you clowns who are always quick to characterize the ones that voice their opinions about the program or the team as "brady bashers" need to look in the mirror - 'cause you're the ones who are critical. just because someone has an opinion on the direction or the game plan of the LSU basketball program doesn't mean that he is bashing the coach. question: what's the difference in the 6,000 people who booed the tigers off the floor as they headed toward the locker room at hafltime against ole miss the other night and the people who you term "brady bashers" voice their opinions on this site? nothing, absolutely nothing. so, get off your high horse. we pay LSU for an education and pay to support the team and the athletic dept. in some capcaity just as you do. if we wanna say something about the direction brady is taking this program, we have a right just as you have a right to boo.
Re: mediocrity number 1, i didn't hear any booing against ole miss...number 2, i don't mind brady bashers who are logical...most of the people who post negative things about brady are just plain ignorant...they point EVERYTHING bad about the program and say it's brady's fault...if someone can give me some logical reasoning behind their brady bashing, i don't mind at all...in fact i think it makes for good discussion
Who are they...... Which teams would be proud to have an 18-8 record? Illinois? Carolina? Georgia Tech? Texas? Oklahoma? Oklahoma St.? No one here is asking for 32-0. I want to be competitive and on par with the Illinois basketball program or Texas or Oklahoma..... Ole Miss would be happy right now with 18-8 but before last year they were happy with 7-4 in football. Is that what you want? Is that the precedent you want to set? I don't need championships or 32-0......I need to be competitive at home against Auburn.....a team that hadn't won an SEC road game all year until us. That's all.
Re: Who are they...... Very well said, we should not be happy with being the ole miss of basketball and there is no reason we can't play on the level of the teams you mentioned.:geaux: :lsug:
