This is a poorly coached team. No other way around it.

Too hard on Saban, my man. This isn't the Saints. If we were talking pros, I'd go along. But this is college ball. We are lacking at some skill positions and it is obvious. Can't put this on Saban. He is under pressure to win with what he has. If LSU has a weak year this year, Randall will see the bench and Russell will be in. He'll be in for future development since he is the future of the team. Frankly, I don't think we can win the Conference right now with either QB, plus there are clearly some problems on defense as well. You might as well face up to the fact that this is a "rebuilding" year for the Tigers. They'll be back. Saban knows what he is doing.

For those of you who seem a bit confused and like to point the finger at Jimbo, lets remember that Jimbo has twice the workload this year. Remember he’s not just getting one quarterback ready to play, but two quarterbacks ready to play instead. He’s not just developing one game plan for one quarterback, but two game plans for two very different quarterbacks.

One quarterback is marginal at best (to be very generous) by SEC standards and needs all the reps he can get in practice, but is splitting the reps with the other quarterback. The other quarterback is although very talented, also very inexperienced and needs all the reps he can get in practice, but is splitting the reps with the other quarterback.

So what ends up happening in the games? Both of them play like they are only getting half the reps in practice! I mean what else could you expect? Not to also mention that both quarterbacks should be getting coach Jimbo’s undivided attention, but out of necessity are only getting his very divided attention. So, is there any wonder why the offense plays with so little continuity? Isn’t it obvious that something has to give, right?

I mean isn’t it very apparent yet that this insane two-quarterback experiment is turning into a very bad and very distasteful joke! Shouldn’t we have learned that lesson after the Auburn game? How many more games will we have to lose before this absurd insanity is finally ended?

The season has been literally thrown down the drain because of this lousy two-quarterback nonsense and it’s not fair to the players and it’s not fair to the fans, but somehow its fair to MR, give me a break!

A decision to go with the young quarterbacks and the future should have been made back in the spring. It was the only prudent decision to be made, but unfortunately for whatever reasons wasn’t. Hence, this team with all its talent is - in contrast to last year’s team - seriously under performing and under achieving. In other words, as for as this season is concerned, the coaching staff is quickly going from heroes to zeros.

Now for all of you politically correct pundits that think I’m an idiot, I’m not giving up on coach Saban or the team by a long shot. He gets full props from me for turning this program into one of the best in all of college football and winning a national championship, and I still believe he’s the best coach ever to coach at LSU, but that still doesn’t take away the fact that as for as this season goes and this team’s performance is concerned, the coaching has been abysmal.

Let this disappointing season serve to the coaching staff the same way the loss to Florida served to last year’s team, as a wake up call to refocus on what it takes to make this team champions again.

I must add my two cents on this one. Allot of the game of football is mental, we all seem to agree with this. Obviously the choice of quarterback has alot to do with the mental state of our players. Just look at past years. Randall is not a quarterback. He may can throw the ball sometimes, he may can run sometimes, he can hand the ball off o.k. but the kid can not lead. The troops do not rally behind him and this is a quality you must have at this position. The QB is the battlefield leader of the team. No team in the last 4 years has responded to him. I feel like he is a waste of time at this position and should not be in game. Matt was half the athlete but ten times the leader as marcus.
We brought Russel in durring the OS game and he was able to bring us back. Russel didnt come in for good untill we were down by 24 against a very good GA team. Thats asking alot from a redshirt freshman. Just like the OS game I think things would have been different if we had of started Russel. We might have still lost but not this way. :dis: :dis:

  4. agreed. we have the best coach in college football, things will improve.

as I've mentioned before.... Jimbo is the one that needs to be canned. All this conservative crap kills me - and has killed me for years. Our offense never has had the killer instinct. Sure we put up big #'s now and then, but Jimbo is bad. Hopefully Saban is looking at this too (although he wouldn't admit it to the press regardless of his thoughts).

Can you say, "We got our butts beat?" It happens every once and a while. But look at all this finger pointing. What happened to the Tigers and Tiger fans I love to argue with? The ones that would say, "Damn you were good today. How about we try again in a few weeks. I think we can do a little better. Matter of fact, we will GAR--AN--TEE it." And NO--Saban is NOT GOD!!!!!!! MY GOD DOESN'T MAKE ANY MISTAKES. Mr. Saban is simply a good coach who is having some problems right now. Personally, I think he can handle it. Probably without my advice. Do I think LSU will beat Fla? Not really. But I've seen enough of angry tigers that I would not really want to play them next week.

This has to be one of the most misguided posts about coach Saban I have ever read. Cut the man some slack. He's won two sec titles and a national championship. In today's world of 85 scholarships, tv dictated starting times, intense media converage, and so on the days of one team being totally dominant are over. LSU won't win the mnc every year. With inexperience at qb this is going to happen.

You know it's this type of intense fandom in baton rouge that may cause a coach to think, "gee I don't need to be in a place where lsu football is the only thing in town. I can go to a place where football is one of four or five or six pro or college sports teams that people follow."

Cut the coach some slack. In the offseason every one likes to spectulate on happy he is in baton rouge and so on and how he loves it here and so on and how great it is. We saw that when he contemplated on the bears job. How about just respecting a person's privacy instead of playing internet board psychologist.

With a new administration coming in you never know what's going to happen so let's keep things in persceptive. Coach Saban is a good guy who's a great coach. You know if you read his interviews and read decent journalism about Coach Saban you'll see how he never really wanted to leave Michigan State, but he felt things had gone to a point where he felt that leaving was for the best--true story.

Let the man coach the football team and support the players and the coach.

It had been a shocking day and tough loss.
I am just praying and hoping that the loss of some of the assistant coaches this year has nothing to do with the loss, although there are many other reasons the team got beaten both on offence and defence. Also, Georgia was quite ready for the game with Greene firing non defensible TD passes. There was also a bit of bad luck as the fumbles were due to hard hits even when the ball carrier had the ball protected.
