This is a poorly coached team. No other way around it.

    Nonsense.

Randall is an average quarterback, unfortunately so is Russell.

Saban's defense is no secret. You just have to have an exceptional quarterback who reads the blitz well. Georgia has one, we don't. Green was patient under center and let LSU tip the blitz, he read it, checked off and had at least three TD's from it.

I can't argue with that. I don't understand being "flat" in a game like this.

They are neither fat nor slow, Georgia had some real fat boys in there. However the OL certainly has underperformed this year. I don't know what is wrong.

They are getting into position, but not making punishing hits and wrapping up the runner. They tackle like they are in practice sometimes. This has to be fixed.

No, but they are pretty damned good and I wouldn't trade them for anybody. Only one of the TD passes was to a wide-open reciever. The other passes were Weurffel-like perfect touch throws that are practically impossible to defend.

Jackson may need to specialize. Right now he is punting, kicking off, kicking field goals and kicking PAT's. And he is doing poor, good, fair, and horrible at them. Nick needs to develop more kickers and punters.

Football is a mentally game and this team is shot all to hell in that department and that is where I lay the blame of the 2 quarterback system.

I agree that long drives early would have changed the face of the game, but those short drives were not caused by Randall. They happened because of fumbles.

How can you place the losses squarely on Randall? These games have not been lost by poor reads and INTS. Russell has had plenty of chances to drive the ball down the field, for some reason we only remember the scoring ones.

I can see both view points.

1st - NS and crew have taken us to the promised land...so it is rather obvious they know how to coach and that NO ONE is asking for them to be replaced. Keep that in mind.

2nd - If it is absolutely no fault of the coaching staff as some of you are so vehement about, then how do you explain the piss poor tackling, a ridiculous number of crucial turnovers, our "All-American" O-line not able to block anyone and our "All-American" CB's getting torched. These things, especially the poor tackling, blocking and turnovers are BASIC FUNDAMENTALS, and they are usually taught by the coaching staff. No one is saying our talent is not there, so how can you not at least question the coaching thus far?

For you homers who are strictly going to flame...please reread my 1st point. I would love a serious response to the 2nd points.

When I say coaching is fine, I strictly am saying from teaching the players how to play this game. The decision to stick with Randall or to even entertain the idea that Randall could lead this team does not make Saban a poor coach. He is still the tremendous coach we have all come to love.

Be patient. This year wasn't meant to be. It's ok. Let's get the experience we need at QB with Russell, develop our young receivers, O-line and D-line and watch as we totally dominate next year.

    No worries here.

I agree with Fightin Tiger to a certain extent. LSU has a great coaching staff and everyone knows it, but that doesn't leave out room for mistakes. I think that Coach Saban has made many many critical mistakes throughout this season. Remember the Auburn game??? Taking Randall out after a very successful drive? I think Saban is trying to do to much out there and needs to let things unfold like they did last year. I mean don't get me wrong, Coach Saban is one of the best coaches ever to step in at LSU, but that doesn't mean that he won't make mistakes and lose games. Randall isn't horrible and neither is Russel, but they both have their weaknesses. I mean they wouldn't be playing at LSU if they weren't great football players. I think everyone is forgetting how young LSU really is and the potential they have for the upcoming years. Maybe they won't finish out this year like everyone would have liked them to, but LSU needs to keep playing 100 % and show the tiger mentality they've always had. The mental mistakes will take care of themselves and LSU will get back on track. :geaux:

When Saban leaves one of these days, many of you being critical now will be upset that he's gone.

That being said, I completely disagreed with some of Jimbo's play calling in the first half. When Vincent fumbled on 2 and 4, why on earth were we running up the middle AGAIN. That had "passing down" written all over it. That's just one example of play calling that's more about being conservative and less about playing to win.

The QB's didn't lose the game for us. But Russell should probably get the starting nod. I also felt that we should've seen Flynn because he's going to need some experience, too, and in the end, who knows if he won't be able to bring qualities to the plate that Mauck did?

One of the mistakes early on besides the obvious QB situation was place kicking duties. Gaudet should have been kicking XPs. Don't know when and where he went into the doghouse, after performing quite well last year.
