There's so many funnier SP episodes, but one of the funniest to me is when the police detective went undercover as a prostitute named Yolanda. S13e9 if you're keeping score at home.
I don't know about the Simpson's, but do yourselves a favor and watch Family Guy; especially if you like South Park or sophomorish humor. (Guilty)
On December 18, 1620, the British ship Mayflower lands at what is now Plymouth, Massachusetts. Her cargo of 102 passengers are Puritans who broke away from the Church of England to found their own church 12 years earlier. Accused of treason, they moved to the Netherlands and began seeking financial backing to found a colony in the New World. They set sail on September 6, 1620, and actually landed in the New World on November 11, at what is now Cape Cod. Over the next month, several small scouting groups were sent ashore to collect firewood and scout out a good place to build a settlement. Around December 10, one of these groups found a harbor they liked on the western side of Cape Cod Bay. They returned to the Mayflower to tell the other passengers, but bad weather prevented them from landing until December 18. On December 18, 1865, Congress formally adopts the 13th Amendment to the Constitution, which states “neither slavery nor involuntary servitude… shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.” Slavery is now illegal in the United States. Alabama became the 27th state to ratify 13A 16 days earlier, giving it the requisite 3/4 of the state's approval for passage. Congress delayed formal adoption until December 18 to coincide with the anniversary date of the first slave ship to arrive in Virginia from Africa, 246 years earlier. On December 18, 1957, the Shippingport Atomic Power Station in Pennsylvania goes online, generating electricity for the first time. The $72 million plant, which is the world's first large-scale nuclear power facility, will supply power to the Pittsburgh area for 25 years until it's retired in 1982.
