I don't understand this logic. Only downside? Being crowned national champs, walking away with our third crystal ball is downside? Huh?

I, too, think this game feels anticlimactic. But not from a sense of complacency or entitlement. But from a sense that a victory in this game
is a logical, forgone conclusion to an argument or mathematical proof in which each game this season has served as evidence.

LSU has played some damn good football this year against top notch competition, but played even better down the stretch against some of its
better competition of the season. Look at LSU's last two games against Arkansas and Georgia, LSU gets into a decent hole, shows up at halftime
and easily puts the game away. That was one lingering quesiton I had about this team, how would they respond if they got in a good-size hole?
Well, we have seen how that question is answered and against very good teams.

Now who did Bama play these last two weeks? A mediocre Auburn team, and a bye. Advantage LSU. I think LSU augments the momentum of these last
two games with excellent bowl game preparation (as always).

Now, the traditional wisdom of grudge matches is that the team that lost the first match has the advantage in a rematch. But the fact that Bama
stayed number 2 at the end of the season and supplanted an equally worthy Oklahoma State team, tells me that no one recognizes that LSU won the
first game. Bama really 'should have' won it, so they get a do over like a whiny school yard kid who can't man up and admit he got beat. I am
certain the LSU team sees this too and it will only add fuel to their fire.

In a season like this, your next game is always your biggest. LSU has played like this the entire season and has gotten to 13-0. While the
accomplishments of this season will not be erased with a loss here, they will certainly lose their luster. LSU does not want this to happen.
LSU will not let this happen. They are going to double down, prepare like hell, play with the full knowledge that everything is on the line
and will walk out with the crystal.

LSU has everything going for it, game in New Orleans, excellent bowl preparation, record against Saban, the momentum of the entire season, etc.
So yes, this game feels anticlimactic. Its outcome is certain, as certain as 1+1=2. Not a certainty derived from complacency or entitlement, but
a certainty bourne of hard work, excellent preparation, momentum, team chemistry, excellent playmaking, a little bit of fun and, of course,
victory. This team will double down and will not flinch if things get ugly early. We will see the consummation of this whole season on January
9th and even we will be stunned by its beauty and elegance. :tigereye:

That's not exactly how I meant it. It just doesn't seem fair that if we lose, we lose it all (the BCS) despite the fact that we beat them already, played more games, one the division.

If we win - I'm just as pumped up as the next guy.

I love your attitude and share your sentiments! This team has been focused all year, and really aren't getting as much respect right now from the national media, or, apparently, our own fan base presently. They will be focused and ready, much more than they were in the beginning of the UGA game. They will bring it full force and take it to Bama - I guarontteee it. Quit this talk about what if Bama wins, etc. Tigers are focused on controlling outcomes and destiny. They WILL win it, and all of this talk about bowl/playoff scenarios that should have been will be mute for this year. That's been their M.O. all year! Since they achieved #1, they haven't looked back, and haven't said "what if" or "woe is us". That attitude will not change, but hopefully our fan base's will! No anticlimatitism (Tirk, proper sp? is this actually a word?, lol) here!
