This Bama rematch is simply feeling anti-climatic to me

You saying Bama blew their wad the first time and got nothing left for an encore?

I have to say I was much more excited about the regular season matchup between us and bama. It also seems the media was to, much publicity was given to the game of the century even at the beginning of the season. But now we meet again in the NC. There's still the same chatter, not as much of the hype though.

I can see this perspective certainly, but I'm eager to break Alabama's proverbial fishing pole while throwing a phone at them.

As I understand it the original purpose of the BCS to begin with was to determine a true National Champion and take it out of the hands of the pollsters and so help me they've done a full circle and put it back in the hands of the pollsters. Who says Alabama is better than Oklahoma State? Do you really know that? No, you don't and you'll never know. The only team that Alabama beat that was worth a sh1t was Arkansas and they really weren't worth a sh1t. Two things we do know. LSU beat Alabama in their home stadium in front of their home crowd and now Alabama is playing in a game they didn't earn the right to be in.

What I don't understand is the purpose of even having a computer poll component at all when human voters simply overrule it when the models don't spit out something they like. Which has now happened numerous times.

I like Gary Danielson's idea of a six team playoff.

Another thread on the rematch?! What is the matter with all of you? I want to grab you by the shirt and shake you, and I am an old woman who graduated from LSU in 1965. This is the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. I certainly hope the team doesn't have the attitude of this board.

I can't stand everything else about Danielson, but I really like his playoff model. The only thing I'd change is having a selection committee pick the top 6 teams, the BCS computers are capable of doing that. The last thing we need is some activist committee that makes a BS call for #6 over #7. Think the UConn baseball regional they got a couple of years ago as a #2 seed purely because the NCAA wanted to "grow the sport" in the Northeast.
