I stopped by and saw Mike Wednesday afternoon. He IS beautiful and he will be a BIG boy when he's fully grown ldskule:
i try to stop by at least twice a week to tell mike whats up. i'll park where im forced to walk by his cage on the way to class. its awsome seeing him:thumb:
I wish we could find out when he eats. I got to watch them feed the old Mike in his old cage. They put him on one side and then put these big newspaper bags of food that they squished out all over his cage in different spots;on top of his tire swing on rocks etc. The guy said it made it fun for Mike to have to go find all the different places that he had food. He had to "hunt" for it. It was fun watching him eat it. The guy said he was fed at the same times daily. If we could find out his schedule, we could go see it, if they still do it that way any. I have this curiosity...what would he do if we brought some of that Buck Bomb stuff that deer hunters use and squirt it? We could spray it and see if how he acts. That would be frowned upon by the powers that be, but I am curious how Mike would act.I wouldn't do it, I am just curious about it.
Just a reminder: The LSU Veterinary school has asked everyone to keep their dogs away from Mike VI. Here's a link to the article http://media.www.lsureveille.com/me...Dogs.Away.From.Mike.Vis.Habitat-3023087.shtml
Thank you for the article. It was great and I did more than get choked up. I got the sniffles and cried. I remember having all those feelings and what it was like at my first LSU game as a LSU student. It was awesome. Great Article. Brought back a lot of memories. :geauxtige :geauxtige
I haven't had a chance to see VI yet, but I'm going to try to take my family up there soon. The new enclosure is awesome....Mike has got to be the most comfortable animal in the country that's not actually living in someone's house. And that was a great article.
I saw him today. He is gorgeous! We are so lucky! I read the article and won't bring my dog back to see him. He did seem to enjoy a little excitement, but I wouldn't want to hurt him. I wouldn't have fulfilled my curiosity regarding buck bomb either, especially after the taser reference! Yikes and ouch!
Great article! I'm definitely going to have to come see Mike VI next time I'm in. I graduated with my MBA the day Mike V died, and it really made for an eerie day. Things just aren't the same without Mike the Tiger around. :tigerhead
