First thing I thought of when I saw Texas. Florida easily has the most rednecks in the world, and once you get through those people you make it Miami. So...

We're talking apples and oranges here. When this thread started, the Yanks were about 7 back in the loss column and the Devil Rays were in 1st place. People had the Yankees out of it and had Tampa Bay in the World Series. AT THAT POINT IN TIME I felt they were underrating the Yanks because I didn't feel they were out of the race. At the same time, I felt they Rays were overrated because they hadn't even hit he dog days and had never been through a pennant race. I may have been spot on.

Is that so hard to understand?

rays have to be rated first to be overrated. lets let that happen first.

the yanks are most always about 7 back in the loss column at this point. in time.

i feel like john captured you on the mother ship so ill let it go.

I must have slept through that time period.
I remember the BoSox getting swept, but this is the 1st I here of any Rays/World Series predictions.

I'm with you on that- I dont get Tx bbq. IMO it is just overcooked, really dry brisket.
Also, to StacyO, I'm with you on the pickles and raw onions. I'm a fan of both, but to me it is weird to see them on something other than a hamburger bun when added with cooked meat.

Don't be so damn literal. After the Red Sox got swept by the Rays and they had the best record in baseball, they were all the rage leading up to the All Star game. Whether there were any specific predictions of a World Series, I can't tell you. I used the phrase for effect. Next time I'll just say that people thought the Rays were pretty good.

Who knew that sweeping the Red Sox was not that great an accomplishment?
