When she grows up, she can change it back. Unlike those folks who tattoo their entire bodies when they're young...

And if you want a taste of the wierdos on the right, just tune into any of the religion channels on the tube. Some of those folks make Tammy Fae look misunderstood...

I never understood the PETA people. If humans never ate meat we would have never developed the brains to even question whether or not it is wrong. The food chain is a part of nature and we are on the top, Why can a shark eat Tuna and we can't?

I'm a half-way animal activist. No, nothing clever is coming next.

I don't necessarily see a problem eating meat, particularly that which you've killed on your own - that's life. Many city folk wouldn't think of killing their own food. Slaughter houses can be inhumane, and I believe that killing an animal for food should be a spiritual thing. This is the end of a life we're talking about, it seems like it should be done respectfully. I kind of buy into the idea of the Native Americans that all life is connected.

I wonder if eating meat is necessary any longer, though. We've developed the technology to be able to survive on non-animal products. It is less a strain on the planet and more effective to raise non-animal products. Taking a life to sustain your life seems moral only if necessary, and as it is no longer necessary, I wonder if it is moral. Eating non-animal products is better for your system - cows are vegetarians and grow up big and strong.

I'm not preaching. I eat meat. It's just how I look at it.

so this includes insects? you hold a quick ritual before swatting that mosquito?

absolutely essential for the proper development and sustained health in humans.

    .

survive yes, excel not a chance.

much more of a strain on our bodies which have been genetically predisposed to eat meat for millons of years as opposed to plants and grains the last couple of hundred.

its necessary for proper health and longevity of life. nothing else comes close nor will we know for millions of years of a different diet. ill get back to you.

    comepletely false.

look at it with a fork and A-1 sauce and dig in. your body will thank you.

    you cant fight evolution.

any true vegans can be spotted in a crowd for a reason. their body does not agree with them. they look like marathon runners (and thats not a good thing).

i, for one, like to think that im smarter than a shark usually. your argument makes no good sense.

im one helluva meat eater, but i do think animals should be taken care of, given some dignity. i try to support ranchers that do this.

the little i understand about it says that tons of livestock is pretty bad for the environment. makes some sense to me.

also seems to be true that while meat is not bad for you, its less good than other things. generally, people eat too much of it at the expense of veg, fruit, grains.

saw a documentary recently about the Lewis and Clark expedition. when they neared the end, and had run out of provisions, they soon came to the columbia river. they were such big meat eaters that they (most of the party) decided to eat their horses instead of eat the tons of salmon in the river. was a big deal back then to eat meat---sort of a gentleman status symbol, respect thing. plus they said the average american male back then would eat something like 7 lbs of meat a day.

I try not to kill bugs, but I don't mind doing so if they want to suck my blood, are a health risk, or are just getting too comfortable in my house.

I didn't take any human ecology classes at LSU, so I'm just going off what I've heard. You seem pretty sure - is this based on science or ego? :hihi: I've always heard that fruits and vegetables were more easily and more completely digested than meat. Not to mention free radicals (I know very little), naturally occurring toxins, fat, etc.

I do. I wouldn't jump into vegetarianism without more knowledge of how it would affect my body and the body of my family.

What about creationism or intelligent design? I'd like to box their ears.

I don't have sufficient data to agree with you on this. My wife did find a pretty buff dude online that claims to be vegetarian / vegan, but Al Gore told me not everything on the internet is true.

I was referring more to the land it takes to raise cattle vs crops. But I don't necessarily disagree with your point.
