I think what I was trying to say in the last message was I think it's a motivation problem. We as a society love to put the blame on the teachers and the school system and the government, but it is simply a kid's job to do what he is supposed to do.

I think the same idea applies to this football criticism we all disagree over. Why are the players so off limits from criticism? At the end of the day it's they who are not putting in enough time in the film room, it's they that weren't catching the passes, it's they that weren't making the blocks, etc.

I think that's one of the reasons Saban left. He saw the players growing complacent and wasn't able to motivate them to continue to desire to excel.

I truely hope he wasn't expecting it to be any different nowadays on the next level. :hihi:

You are right about the kids. The only other person besides the child themselves that can be blamed is the parents. However, just because someone comes from a home that doesn't support them and motivate them doesn't mean that they cannot succeed. Ultimately it is up to the child to make a conscious decision on what they will accomplish in life. God knows that there are more than enough opportunities available for anyone.

It may be lowest in the south but public screwel systems in every state are in the toilets.

With all the focus on "everything equal, must be secular, sex ed" crap, the last thign discussed is whether the kids are learning anything. The kids are pawns in a game that cannot be won.

I love these dudes who say vouchers will take money away from the public school system and we should just focus on revamping public schools. OK, but what about the kids that are in failing public schools RIGHT NOW!? We sacrifice them so we can test more liberal teaching philosophy that has failed our system since the 60s.

I blame parents for raising kids that don't give a **** way more than I blame school systems. The school system has devolved into disciplinary centers for that reason alone.

I for damn sure know that my parents were on my ass to get work done until 9th grade. After that it was up to me.

I agree that private schools work because parents who have their kids there make sure they do their work and shut-up for the most part. I know I stay on my daughter's ass.

But when the public school system has no ability to put kids out who don't want to shut-up and learn, it's a losing proposition for the kids who do want to learn.

I'll be back later to explain why it makes no sense. Right now there is a steak calling my name. :hihi:
