Lafayette is a strange, strange town. USL's stadium is creepy looking, and you gotta love that torture chamber of an arena that is next to it. I also love the UNIVERSITY OF LOUISIANA in Lafayette . The paper refers to them as the "flagship" of the University of Louisiana system.
tsk tsk tsk-- You said UL-- It's UL-Lafayette (or ULL)... They ARE NOT the University of Louisiana, at least in my eyes :lsug:
The Daily Disappointment is horrible and the Times Pic is not a whole lot better. The Advocate has the best sports section of any that I have seen.
.. I am not going to renew my Shreveport Times. I can just go down town on sunday and pick up an Advocate. The only reason I get The Times is for the sports. The sunday sports section is, on a big sports weekend, 6 to 8 pages. That is if they have a Bassmaster Classic to cover.
The Daily Disappointment is a joke...the worst newspaper I have ever seen. The whole paper is horrible, but if you are a Tiger fan living in Lafayette, you will not find anything in it. The New Orleans Times Picayune is not much better. On a day-to-day basis, the BR Advocate has the best sports page I have ever seen.
Crappy sports sections are everywhere!! The Clarion Ledger in Jackson won't even give you SEC scores on Sunday. You would think that with the state having 2 SEC schools they would assume there is an interest in what's going on in the SEC. Well, they oviously don't! I have missed games and tried to at least find the score on a Sunday morning and find Nada. Talk about piss ya off. Sure, they cover MSU & OLE Sissy, but nothing else SEC most of the time. At least the Advocate give ALL SEC scores on top of the sports page...is that too much to ask of the CL?
