No i don't expect every place to be Commander's Palace. Way to go jumping to extremes. I do however expect the place to serve properly prepared food, with a a nice taste and an appropriate cost. Walk-ONs may have the cost thing right. That is about it.

There are few places that I refuse to eat but Long John Silver's is definitely one of them. I can usually find something I like at any restaurant.

Regarding Pastime, it's probably my favorite pizza of all-time although it's definitely a little "different" (greasy / cheesy). It's one of the few places that I'm content with only pep as a topping (although I try other toppings when not with wife & kids). I only go there before LSU football games and their pizza somehow magically balances out the alcoholic beverages during tailgating (usually a couple of bourbon or rum drinks followed by beer).

<--- Likes Chilis and Walkons. Doesn't care for Applebees. Used to love the Calendar's salads but all 3 places went belly up. And I don't expect the Mexican place that opened up in their Perkins location to last long either.

We don't have a great barbeque place in town and the mexican places are ok. Of course many of my relatives live in Houston so my comparisons may be unfair.

Ralph and Kacoo's IMO have gone down the drain. Mike Anderson's and Don's are ok. Joe's Crab shack, well, no. Juban's is great but way overpriced even for a fancy place.

And for a good burger, Times Grill on Essen.
