The only way that early voting would work is if they count the votes as they come in (but only as a pre-count) and then AGAIN on election day to ensure the paper ballots were not altered/added/deleted. Any that don't match (serial number or contents) would be thrown out and the person that voted would be informed and allowed to correct it). But I would do away with anything other than election day voting on paper ballots for the next 10 years to get this crap fixed. Our democracy is under attack alright. Under attack by the Democratic machine of harvesting ballots. The media doesn't hold the leftists that have been destroying the country accountable and now the votes don't hold them accountable (what percentage of folks think we are going in the wrong direction?). That is the way it is done here. You put it into the machine and it is counted right away. The results are available as soon as the polls close on election day. It never takes more than a few minutes before they are posted.
For mail in voting. It should be requested via your voter registration number. Once returned, that number is then re-verified for a 1:1 count. You should then be able to lookup your vote was counted as you placed it. If we can land people on the moon, I am sure we can do this. Its not hard and legit. Sending out ballots with nothing and just allowing anyone to fill out however many is fraud. Period. Otherwise, get your ass in line and vote.
