If you've been a Tide fan for any length of time you should know EXACTLY how that feels. If memory serves Bama started #3 in 2000 and limped to the finish line at 3-8. How soon you forget. Moreover, Hawker is one of the better posters on this forum. He doesn't need to explain himself to you.
I am a Hawkeye... always have been, always will be. I was an Iowa fan when we had three win seasons, so I can sure as hell handle this year. I am also a great college football follower... I have now lived in the heart of SEC and ACC football longer than I lived in the North. My daughter is a Georgia grad, my son is an Auburn grad. They both have to live with their choices. I like this forum because most poster here know their stuff. It is a great place to get a feel for how things are going in the SEC. I've seen the Bama forum... way too many folks living in the past. BTW, I'd think your Bama team this year is okay, just not great.... and that is from watching you play, not reading postings on this forum. (and, as bad as our record at Iowa is this year, I'd have no fear of playing you in a bowl... none, nada... it would be a close game:thumb: )
If you would bother looking, he joined this forum in December of 2004 just b4 LSU played Iowa in the Cap 1 Bowl. He knows his stuff and is very welcome to post on this forum as are you.
Yes we only put up 24 against App State. That was without our starting RB. I throw out any game against a Div. 1-AA team. I still think it is a crime for any D-1 team to play to the lower division(no disrespect to Div 1-AA). I do also remember putting up 56 against UNT the week before. Souther Miss did put 21 points on your #1 Defense. Also when we played Auburn, we had a mssed FG and 2 dropped TD's. Bama's offense struggled and put up 3 pts against Miss State. We struggled with our #2 RB and still manage 24 points. My predictions are based on what I have seen on TV by watching LSU and Bama play.(there is nothing better than SEC football) Bama has a GREAT defense, but, just a good overall team. :geauxtige
Don't believe I'd have told that. Just joshin Hawker. Watched your team Saturday. Can't figure 'em out.:bncry:
you might even be too generous giving Bama 10 pts. The way their offense has been playing, the Tigers could easily shut them out
it really doesnt matter if LSU is third or fourth. As long as they win out and capture the SEC championship, they will be in the Sugar Bowl. And if they win that one they could possibly finish as high as 2nd or 3rd
I think DarkHornet and Red55 have it right, we do not know if Bama's defense is that good because of the teams they have played or not, we'll see Saturday. Our offense definitely needs to be more consistent and not blow any scoring opportunites like we did early in the season.
