OK, so many of you know, I run a small town TV station. Way down on the food chain of the business, but I have no complaints, until now. Three weeks ago, Discovery Channel began a new reality series,"The Killing Fields" following a retired Iberville Parish deputy who is trying to crack a 20-year old murder cold case. The deputy is one of my employees' husband. TDC has already offered him a chance to extend the series (its only supposed to go 6 episodes, so they're halfway done, and the case is still ongoing), but he's ready to resume retirement. So they turned around and offered this guy who's never seen a microphone until now, a job narrating one of their other miniseries - at about $1,500 an hour. He can do that from home! Life ain't fair.
I watched an episode of that show, trying to cash in on the True Detective Louisiana mystique. All they do is drive around and talk about Derek Todd Lee.
Derek Todd Lee is probably the killer of the woman the show is about. She fit the profile of his victims.
The Last Kingdom on BBC America is very good. Season 2 of Fargo was outstanding also. Haven't seen season 1. Just finished binge watching Friday Night Lights on Netflix. I didn't like the movie so I didn't watch the show when it aired but I'm glad I finally got around to watching it. Muy bueno .
