I hope you are proved wrong as well. These kids just need a little fire up under their asses. hopefully smoke can motivate them to motivate each other?
Skip was funny, Skip was not passionate. Dale was passionate, Dale wasn't (intentionally) funny. Smoke is truthful and teams in the past bought into him.
FT mentioned a key word... visually, the kids and the coach do not seem to pour out the passion of LSU past... doesnt it seem that way? brad cresses... warren morris....Ryan Theriot... Blair Barbier... Trey Hodges... what happened to that intensity? that passion? is it gone? or does it lie sleeping like a dog... waiting to wake up to a kick and bite off a hand or two...? time will tell...
If you read the original post it was said that we all need to lay off cause they are just student athletes trying to win games. Well hell, they've always been students trying to win games. But was everybody on here saying that when we got beat 56-7 by Florida. No, they wanted blood. Your post should have been directed at the student athlete comment. I've never said Smoke sux or should be fired. I just hate these yahoos who act like Smoke and Brady invented their sports and therefore need more time....or it's this or it's that. The SEC Tourney means nothing when we get run out o-2 and get embarassed. Hey the SEC Tourney in basketball means nothing. But they would be on here saying how we are SEC Tourney champs and would getting their T-shirts printed. They make fun of every other team who says Western Division Champs when it isn't us but they're first ones to get those shirts printed when it's us. Every game is played to win in college sports........if not why play them. People can be disappointed and express that in a civil way without being abused on a stupid board. Or else you have Tigerroar where 10 guys end up stroking thermselves all night verbally and arranging meetings to literally stroke each other at Pastimes. I also love the point whoever made that, hey you can say negative things as long as you comment when things go good...........OK, teacher. OK, mom. That's like the board teacher....I'll bet they were the hallway monitor in school. "Hey, no candy is allowed in homeroom." And Tirk, what does winning the SEC West in baseball and getting the 2nd seed if you get run out and humilated two games? Nothing. In fact I'd stop bragging about it.
I agree. I watched the Yankees-BoSox last night and the Yankee comeback started after Torre gave Sheffield a hotfoot. The whole dugout cracked up. Then, I thought I'd split a gut when Stottlemeyer got down on his hands and knees and Torre pushed Jeter backward over him. The Yanks scored 5 runs that at bat. We need to see antics like that from Smoke.
That is the single biggest problem I have with some fans. This board was pretty quite the last few weeks while LSU baseball was rolling along. You would think fans would be happy about winning. Look at the fans making many of these negative posts ... they weren't here a few weeks ago enjoying the success. They were hiding and waiting till we lose. Pretty sad way to be a fan....
But how can ANY baseball team not be fired-up and excited to be headed into Regional and SR play? We'll see what happens. I feel very confident that the players are going to be excited and play with fire in the R and SR. I feel confident that LSU will win the R.
just watching the ole miss game last night it was a different atmosphere. the guys were pumping fist when they hit homeruns when they make a big play...you can tell that both of those teams were having fun. thats what we used to see. not anymore.
I miss the passion that the LSU teams i grew up with had. bottomline on all the smoke stuff... would you rather have a baseball coach not at least take you to a CWS? or would you rather have him just not take the team there at all? heres the thing: fans are going to b i t c h about everything. Basically, Smoke can do not right. Right? win the division...b i t c h.... go to the regionals... b i t c h.... Really... anything smoke does will be WRONG because he is not Skip.... Now I know how BAMA fans felt when Coach Bryant left the program. anything the other coach did, was wrong. blah, im done.
