I'm about to send all of you to your rooms without any dinner! My post was simply about attitude. A winning attitude is what this team needs - not because they deserve it or because they lost it, they need it because they wear the LSU Uniform. That, in and of itself, is due to a decade of athletic dominance and brilliance - the likes of which we may never see again in college athletics. The attitude is guaranteed upon acceptance of a scholarship to play baseball at LSU. I was simply trying to kick start it. Remember "Pay it Forward?" Well, I'm trying to "Play it Forward" ........ all the way to Omaha, Nebraska. If I can ignite one fan on this board and he takes the ATTITUDE to Alex Box and passes onto the guy next to him I will feel great about Playing it Forward ........ all the way to Omaha, Nebraska. We invented college baseball magic - we still have the top hat, the wand, and the bunny rabbit. "The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home... A TEAM. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes."
Once again, been reduced to 10 guys talking about how DiNardo needed one more year...or in this case, Brady or Smoke. With Hallman, they were the same kids trying their best to win games. Did no one complain then?
Those are such bad comparisons. Have Brady, DiNardo, or Hallman ever seen one of their teams No. 2, then have a "bad" or "terrible" year and go into the postseason No. 8?
Look, I understand the temptation to express these negative thoughts, but don't you think that your thinking is misguided? The time is NOW. This LSU baseball team will be mentally ready to play in the Regional and SR. Don't let yourself give in. Fight with the Heart of a Tiger. That's my motto.
