I don't understand this remark. I could have sworn Saban recruited a completely different football team then what he was left with, and then was able to make them a National Championship team. Miles was left with the remaining players of those recruiting classes.

It may be too early and I am hallucinating, but that may be top five dumbest things I have heard in awhile. And get your head out of your rear end if you think Miles is not still benefiting in recruiting from the NC Saban brought to the team.

And for losing three games, remember that most of the time a 2 loss team will be in the SEC championship game which will account for another loss for one of those teams.

I don't doubt that but credit Miles for building- Al Woods (whose name you will come to know well in the next 3 years) was heavily recruited by USC and Miles got him and Perrilloux wasn't coming until Miles went meet with him as soon as he got the job- knowing we already had Flynn and Russell. I'd like to know what Miles said to land him.

    We call these people fools.

When I sat through six straight losing seasons under Archer/Hallman, most of them were watching Barney the Dinosaur, but now they are coaching experts. Sure we can question a coaching decision, that's what we are here for. But any talk of firing the coach who has two winning seasons and a SECCG appearance indicates just how foolish some folks are. Hell will freeze before LSU fires Miles this year or next year. He will actually have to lose a season before that happens, possibly two seasons. No coach on the planet would be interested in coming to LSU if posting a record like Miles gets you fired!

They deserve what they got. LSU would be idiotic to fire Les Miles after a winning season. I don't care if it's 6-5.

We should've fired Cholly Mac for being unable to beat Bear Bryant.

    Great Post JS.:thumb:

If someone complains about play calling or complains about coaching, etc etc, it DOESN'T mean we want the coaches head. This is not the case but we all know that there have been short comings on this coaching staff. There is nothing wrong in talking about it. We all know that there have been short comings in player's performances, there is nothing wrong in addressing it.

Just because you critique a player or coach doesn't mean you want them benched or fired. Just b/c JR made some bad passes in the AU and UF games doesn't mean I want him benched and when Les doesn't have his players ready to play and his staff doesn't get players to improve their performance, doesn't mean I want him fired. I've given him time to prove his coaching prowess and show what he can do with Top 10 talent, and I'll give him more time.

But in the event we lose to UT, then things will be looking bad for LSU next season. Sure we lost to top 10 teams and maybe a 3rd loss to UT would be 3 top 10 games we lost, but with the talent he has shouldn't we win one of these games at minimum. Everyone talks about the huge talent LSU has and that Les walked into a gold mine of players. Yet we can't beat a top 10 team. Now I'm waiting to see what he does for the UT game and if he wins it and the players perform well, then I will continue to support him.

I support Les now and hope he succeeds and had an open mind when he came here. So far this year I'm not impressed with the way he has performed. I am in noway calling for a new coach though, just that my patience is running thinner. We should be able to at least win 1 out of the 3 top 10 games when our talent and depth is probably better than any of those 3 teams.

Good post up to that point. That may be your opinion, but I'm quite sure Auburn, Fla and Tennessee feel the same way about their teams. It would be quite disappointing to lose those 3 games, but, they were all on the road. A quirk in the schedule makes every other year our best chance to make a solid run at the SEC. It's not necessarily the coaching if we can't win those games because it's almost accepted fact that winning against upper tier SEC teams on the road is near impossible. Let's see how we do with the home schedule in our favor. Then, if there's limited success, we can talk about where the problem lies.

No TV Pundits were talking about how full the cupboard was at UF when Meyer showed up but that was the first thing leading off the paragraph when pundits talked of LSU and Miles coming here with all the tools needed.

Our QB has more talent than Cox, Leak, and Ainge, our defense has better play makers than these schools, the only disadvantage is the RB situation. I should've said that LSU's talent and depth are arguably better than those 3 teams. I think depth is the key word though.
