I went to an LSU game at South Carolina a while back and had pretty good seats. When they came out on the field, their band was facing my side and they were playing the entrance. They must just use the speakers to help proliferate the sound throughout the stadium.
For information...Our Mascot is referring to General Thomas Sumter. He was nicknamed the Gamecock. He was a General during the Revolution. He is a historical figure for South Carolina and our nation. He fought with the spirit of a fighting gamecock and was an instrument that lead our nation to freedom. Remember this when you hear the crowd chanting Gaaaammme Cooooooooooocccccckkkkks or Let's go Cocks!! Intent is not to offend but to show fighting spirit.
