1. Couldn't agree more. Many call A&M over-rated and point to their Baylor game but I still think that they are a very solid team.

If anyone in that bracket is over-rated, I give it to Tech who seem to fold under solid defenses.
  2. aTm was obviously overlooking Baylor and planning for the Sooners.

Tech will be a solid team once Leach puts as much effort into playing defense as he does offense. They can whip on on average teams and even surprise some really good teams.
  3. A&M's defense has been far from good this year....kind of made me scratch my head when Leech struggled against them
  4. Kyle Field isn't exactly a easy place to play at.

OU is 2-5 all time at Kyle Field.

  5. obviously A&M is a good team. First game against a buzzsaw in Utah and looking ahead against baylor. anyone who thinks they aren't a good team is kidding themselves or just do not watch them.

actually i think the big 12 and sec are pretty close overall with the SEC more top heavy this year than usual. the bottom dwellers in MSU, Vandi and Ole myth are pretty bad this year. SC is a pretty big dissapointment as well.

Big 12 south has 2 legit top 10 teams in OU and UT. Okie state is pretty damned good but Texas Tech is smoke and mirrors.
  6. Now if we could just get rid of :eek:lefire: the world might take the SEC West seriously. :dis:

i wonder would the Pac-10 take them?
  7. A) Texas A&M is a legit top 25 team. They are not a great team, but they are a good team. They absolutely demolished that "legit" Oklahoma State team IN Stillwater. They took OU to the wire, and beat a good Texas Tech team.

    B) Texas Tech is a better team than they get credit for. They are not as bad as Tulane as you imply. They took A&M into overtime in Kyle Field...not an easy thing to do. They beat Kansas State at night in Manhattan. I don't care how good or bad KSU is, they're still tough to beat in Manhattan. Just ask Oklahoma. Not a great team, but they will finish 7-4 and 5-3 in the conference most likely.

    C) Did you really just call Texas a joke? So Texas losing 12-0 to OU when the game was within 6 points for almost the whole game makes them a horrible team? If you did your research, you would see that Oklahoma has completely shut down the run this year. It's the passing game that their defense has had troubles with, particularly the deep passing game. Texas is not the best passing team in the country and definitely was not very good at that time with young receivers. OU simply shut down our run game for the most part. Now that we're past that, how about Texas beating Texas Tech by 30 in Lubbock? Lubbock is a very tough place to win. Or Texas running of 49 straight points to beat the "legit" Oklahoma State team by 21? Or the 600 yards of offense that Texas put up on OSU? Who cares if Texas almost lost to Arkansas? It was a major rivalry game with the largest crowd in the history of Arkansas football. Strange things happen. It was a road game against a team that is MUCH better than their record will show. Texas played poorly for most of the Kansas game. In fact, it was about as bad as you could possibly play...and still came back from a 10 point defecit in 7 minutes. Texas put up close to 600 yards of offense. I'm failing to see how we're a joke. Texas is a legit top 10 team and anybody who can't see that is kidding themselves. Every team has a close call or two during the season. USC had close calls with Stanford and Oregon State. Stanford isn't going to a bowl game and Oregon State probably isn't either. Kansas is just as good/bad as thsoe two teams are.

EDIT: Just a little stat to throw out there. OU's rush D: 13th in the nation allowing just 101.5 YPG. This comes after facing two of the top 7 rushing teams in the nation.

    4) Oklahoma State is Texas with a bad defense. Great running game with an inconsistent QB (although Vince Young is far better than Donovan Woods when both are playing their best) and a top of the line running back (but Benson is better than Morency). Main difference is that OSU has an outstanding WR in D'Juan Woods and Bajema is a pretty good tight end. Legit top 20 or 25, yes. But not a great team. Great teams don't blow 28 point leads to anybody...ever.

The SEC West is a great division, but I think the Big 12 South is a little better this year. If only we could disown the Big 12 North. One funny stat...if you leave out Baylor, then the Big 12 South lost a total of zero games to the North this season.
  8. But you can't leave out Baylor. They are a terrible football team and any team that Baylor beats sucks by default.
  9. As much as I hate to, I have to give some credit to A&M. They've improved a lot from last year, and it wouldn't surprise me if they beat UT. After how they nearly edged OU, I wonder how they'll perform against their sworn enemies.
  10. I guess this shoe fits aggy.
