@Winston1 given how bad the left is on energy, how their policies literally destabilize global politics, empower rogue states, etc, wouldnt it be worth it to have trump over biden?

i guess this all depends on the chances trump destroys our democracy. but you keep your ideas about that a closely guarded secret, never to be discussed.

the developing countries need cheap fossil fuels. very badly. or else they will stay poor for far longer than is right and just. we had oil and coal, they should too.

Look, dumbass, nobody here said we need to get rid of fossil fuels. And it's very clear you're not an economist because you have absolutely no notion of sunk, opportunity, and hidden costs. Do you even know what the word "investment" means?

We needed horse drawn carriages to carry the parts to build auto production plants. We no longer need those horse drawn carriages. We needed candles and lanterns to provide light for workers building the first electric plants. You need existing technologies to build future technologies. You need existing energy sources to build replacement energy sources. That's the way of the world.

The idea is to replace fossil fuel dependence as much as feasible, not altogether, and not immediately. Why is it that dumbasses such as yourself think that anybody wants to just cut off our present energy sources? But I answered my own question, didn't I? Because you're dumbasses.

Like it or not, the future will have a LOT more renewable green energy, and will replace a lot of fossil fuels. Until such time, those who control fossil fuel extraction will have significant impact on our lives. Unfortunately, those who control fossil fuel extraction are too often dictators and monsters. The sooner we invest in replacement the better.

Prove it. Post your math. You have no clue how manny barrels of oil go into making 1 single electric car. That includes mining for the raw material.

Do you even understand that once a car is built it's built? And that whatever fuels were used to produce the car have very little to do with its operating costs? Do you even understand that that keyboard you're using is made of plastic, but now that it's produced it doesn't use any plastic at all?

Again, everything you need to charge said car comes and will forever come from… fossil fuels.

Do you have a replacement for plastics, rubber, chemicals? No. You don’t.

    You lack Worldly knowledge.

But like I ask, show your math. You can’t.

You talk about “sunk and opportunity costs” yet ignore you still have to drill for petroleum. On top of that, you must frac the oil to make the plastic etc. we don’t burn oil for electricity. We burn the natural gas that comes up with it (Primarily).

Energy has already been spent drilling it up, but you think we should use MORE energy to put it back in the ground? This only makes sense to retards.

seems like biden going to saudis and sucking their cocks did little good, they are still lowering supply to drive up oil prices.
arent higher oil prices what we should want, given that they drive money into alternatives? we are trying to save the earth here, right?
