he never said you wore anything. since its a clothing line designed for blacks he used it as an example of what he finds offensive and you may not.

much the same way colonel reb is not offensive to him. turns out to be a good example it seems.

looks like he was trying to have an open discussion while accusing you of nothing.

this is a big example why race can never be dealt with across racial lines.

it always gets sidetracked away from the actual issues.

I agree with you here MM. I used to think that the stars and bars on various southern state flags was more cultural than racist...and it probably really is "heritage". I think the south has come a long way since WWII and dignified human relations are a lot more important to me than symbols.

But then I asked myself what I would feel like if one of the states in Germany had a swastika as part of the flag's design...even though it's not my country.

I began to feel differently after that realization.

correct me if i'm wrong, because i wasn't born yet, but:

from what i've read/heard, the flag wasn't really a symbol of racism until the time of the civil rights or so.
it was more of a "eff you" to the north, and a reminder of who are and where we came from.
then during the KKKs hey day, and other grotesque parts of our history, backwoods rednecks, and good ole boy politics used it as their symbol.
changing it's meaning from one of heritage and pride to one of pure hatred and racism.
