I bet we have a mett/ Randell bullchit issue just like the jj/jl chit.

I don't believe that one bit. Mett clearly has the edge on experience and is being groomed as the heir. Randell might play but that has more to do with mett only being here 2 years and needing to groom his replacement.

I hope mett is a NFL worthy pro style pocket passer. No more option chit. A qb that throws for 200+ yards every floppin game, even his games where he's off a little. I want to see lsu with a balanced 250 yards rushing and passing dominating attack.500 yards offense a game!

Isn't next year Mett's last year of eligibility after this year?

Two more years for mett to pass for 3000 yards each year and win two crystals and a heisman.

A lot going on in this thread. I think the following summarizes the main points:

Starts with perhaps the real reason why Lee didn't start (he cut classes this past week), then to CLM is a bigot and clearly favors JJ over JL, to what we might see next year with Mettenberger at QB.

Getting back on track, if CLM benched JL for cutting class, that's fine with me. It would have been nice if JL could have played more than one series, though. That said, JJ had a decent game, threw some nice balls, ran some, and the one glaring bad play was the sack in the endzone.

What I do find interesting is the number of passes thrown by JJ, including the bomb to RR for a TD. Nice. Also, the fact that CLM had JL running the option, and fairly well I might add, including a 15 yard scamper. Going forward, and as was mentioned in one or two other threads, this I believe was designed to make it difficult for our next couple of opponents (mainly Arky) to game plan against us. I truly believe there's a method to CLM's thought process, and all of a sudden seeing the two QB's in complete role reversals has to cast some doubt as to how they will be used.
