not sure why you think history doesn't matter, but I'm not a millinial, I actually have an attention span & to me, those past games in tiger stadium were & are very important to me, as are the present games.
sure teams move up & down & in & out of the polls. no we aren't locked into past history. my point there is who exactly do you have to sell at qb for a top flight qb to be impressed with? hodson & jones? flynn & mett? I'm asking a legit question. you think that isn't a big part of the salesmanship of recruiting? cam/miles could have used jamarcus, who threw for 3,000 yards under his watch. he sure looked like shit under saban. but he decided to be a bum in the NFL. he can use mettenberger's 3,000 yards & flynn.

but that's the part that you don't see. If miles/cam has a good qb, he will use him. if he has a mediocre/poor qb, what's the point? sit the all american rb , while a 1st year starter learns to read defenses? this has been the case for 2 seasons now. how much "deception & imagination" do you believe these seasoned coaches are really surprised with. jimbo fisher's bubble screens? they fool nobody, any of the time. they may execute them well at times, but there is no imagination or surprise. you want to bet the farm on jimbo beating saban or even heir apparent, dabo swinney with his imagination? he imagined 3 points at auburn in '06 & achieved it. we lost the game due to that crap.

I'm not really dismissive of miles shortcomings or any other LSU coaches shortcomings. you want a real upgrade at coach? bring in urban meyer & I'll sign on right now.

I know he can turn it around. heard all this bulshit before. "miles will never win an sec title here again" then beat everyone's ass in the SEC 8-0 &13-0. something I've never seen before at LSU.

but under whatever the hell this f'ed up situation is, I doubt being "optioned" for a year, will motivate miles or any good potential asst.coaches or attract any new top recruits. guess we'll see.

really? i suggest you go back and replay this years game against bama. or replay the nc game against them several years ago. there is never a backup plan. except for when mett was here, if the running game was contained we were shi_ outta luck. our OL was touted this year and fournette had what about 2 yards a carry. it was clear early on that we were in for an ass kicking. ole miss and arkansas seemed to copy sabans strategy and shut us down too. and our coaching brain trust never could adapt. and as lasalleave said, we have talent on these past teams blowing the nfl up.

We finished 5th in the west last year. Same record as AU, but lost head to head.

he's had 2 different 3,000 passing quarterbacks and one of the highest paid qb backups in the NFL.

It's a real problem for the offensive coordinator though. jimbo got lucky with flynn & jamarcus. so far, cam was lucky with mett.

anytime you gotta go out of state to get a qb, it's more luck than anything, imo. It's a little disturbing the tup LA qb recruits have not been very good.
