Sorry, guys but that's part of being a reporter. Unbiasness and conflict are two things that make a "good" story. My professor always wants us to find the controversial. Comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable. But the other AP writers definitely need to see how Adams is making his decisions and do the same.
This is what we need. Here's Rich Tellshow's latest: If we don't get to #2 in one of the two polls---and, frankly, we sure as heck should be #2 in at least one of them---we're sunk without that Syracuse win.
Using the BCS, determine the top 4 teams. Then 1 plays 4 and 2 plays 3 for the right to NC. You could use the four bowls in the BCS now with the NC game rotated every year as it is now. Would make each bowl more interesting since they all would mean something. Of course the 5 team would complain but this would make it fairer than the current system. Any debates are settled on the field.
You have to keep in mind that the bowl games are also a very large source of income for teams as well as a big game. How fair would it be for teams to get more than one huge bowl payoff, and others that would normally get one, get none?
Every year there are more and more teams that are not really deserving going to bowl games. What would happen is the Nevadas and Hawaiis of the world will miss out on a bowl game and the top teams will trickle down to the slightly lower bowl games. That would probably increase those Bowl's prestige.
I'd tell those teams the following: 1) Win more games. 2) Win your conference. 3) Create your own bowl game. Seriously, I was just reading that almost half of the 117 Div. I-A teams will be going to a bowl game. That's crazy... NBA playoff-like crazy. Do we really need a 6-6 team to play in a bowl game against another 6-6 team?

Do we really need a 6-6 team to play in a bowl game against another 6-6 team? If we ever get a playoff system I would like to see that changed a little bit. Otherwise, I love all the bowl games and I think thats what makes college football special. That gives a team a chance to rise up and beat someone in a new season of sorts. Sometimes teams lose thier 1 or 2 or more of thier games in the beginning of the season. Its the first action of the year and the players aren't all use to playing together but as time goes on they gell and get better.......... Like Florida this year, there a better team than thier record indicates. Not really talking about the 6-6 teams, more like the 3 and 4 loss teams. Like when we play Va Tech last year, things didn't come together. I would watch for instance: a 6-6 Notre Dame team vs a 6-6 Auburn game just an example....... some conference 6-6 teams might be better than a 9-3 team.
