Rice's top two are great, but nothing we haven't seen. They have inflated pitching statistics because they play in the WeAC. They are about as good as Ole Miss in reality. And they have never seen a batting order like LSU's

Ok cool, someone who knows Rice very well. If you had to venture a guess, what order do you think they start their pitchers against us?

I definitely agree about the low scoring. One other thing to consider is LSU's leaky defense will have to come through. Allowing any unearned runs against Rice will more than likely spell the difference between winning and losing.

Yes I definitely tried to point that out in my analysis. Their year has been impressive sure, but relatively speaking, it's a lightweight schedule. And when they did play the big boys, they didn't fare so well.

My guess would be Humber, Townsend, Niemann because that's the way they've started the last few weekends.

Also, I'd have to say these 3 guys are a little better than the Ole Miss starters. All 3 are projected to be drafted in the first 20 picks of the draft this month.

Anything can happen, but I am not worried about losing in a 4 team regional at home ... if we can't get by Army, CoC and USM, then we have much bigger problems with our baseball program!

Yeah, even though they may have faced a lighter schedule, these guys are the real deal. As good a top 3 as ever composed.

Thank you. I was waiting til someone came out with the "we gotta win our regional first". This isn't a baseball program trying to find it's way. This is a program that has dominated the college baseball scene for the past 15 years. Let's get some proper perspective.

In the same sense, you don't hope to win. You EXPECT to win. LSU still does.

We have to win our regional first, but so does Rice. A&M is pretty tough. Upset is not out of the question.

I do agree that Texas A&M could upset Rice. And they should be able to bring a lot of fans so that the home field advantage is not so apparent.

LSU should not lose this regional however. It's out of the question.

I am certainly going to set my dislike for the aggies aside this weekend and hope they pull off the upset. I believe LSU would be the favorite to host the SR should that happen.
