Good post, Mesquite. Just ignore WhininTiger like he was ramah, who we won't be hearing from for a while.
LSU already IS a consistant player on the national scene. Have you seen the polls lately? Over the last few years, LSU has been very consistant I'd say.
What a jacka**. Miles is having just as much success as Saban at recruiting. You would be a fair weather fan, but the weather is as good as it gets and you are still complaining. Are you really an LSU fan???????
ok...I accept your argument but tell me this. Saban had the SAME talent in 2004 and won ugly just like Miles this year, so is it the coach or the players playing down to the competition? Ole Miss had crappy teams almost every year during Saban's tenure except one, and we could never beat them by double digits, and even lost to them at home. My point to you is that you focus too much on the coach, and not enough on the people on the field not getting up for the game. these kids have been competing in football for years, yet can't get up for a game on national tv for the SEC West title? Arkansas players were up, and I can promise you Nutt had little to do with that...they wanted to beat LSU and ruin their season....same with the Aggies today...Fran looked shocked at the half they were in it. players...players...players....
don't get me wrong. I have very high expectations for this team, but to burn Miles at the stake like some of you is not necessary at this point. he won 10 games this year, under what some would say very trying circumstances. i expect nothing less then a West championship every year, and a BCS shot.
I'm not buying it. I was very critical of this team and the coaching staff after the ASU win and the Tennessee loss. But we've won 9 straight for goodness sakes. The defense and Pelini have stepped up large. It is not coaching. Granted these are Sabans players but I think Miles will still have success. He gives a lot of credit to the players. I like that.
Miles may not be as good a coach as Saban. Time will tell. Ft is assuming he won't recruit well. He may be just as good at recruiting. Time will tell. so far so good, 10-1 won the WEST. :thumb: :geauxtige give it a chance. predicting rain is pretty easy, sooner or later it WILL rain, sooner or later LES MILES will lose a game... even the great coaches do that. So FT WILL be right...for one game, maybe 2, but it's the long haul that great coaches are measured by. And these days a long haul might be 3-4 years. I'll tell you this Fightin Tiger, if you don't enjoy these good times, regardless of what your gut tells you, You're gonna be miserable if you turn out right one day. Every coach has his faults. As much as you people make fun of other SEC coaches, think about it. the company Miles is in. Nutt, Tuberville, Shula, Meyer, Spurrier, Fulmer, Rict, all pretty solid coaches. We've beaten 4 of those this year, lost to one pretty Savy and battle worthy one, and we have yet to play one of the other ones. ( we don't play Spurrier ) so that's 4-1 with one left to go? Pretty good odds, I'd say. So was it Miles? Jimbo? the players? don't kid yourselves, even though we "squeeked" by a few of these teams, it's still a tough league. it takes a COmbined effort to win these games. Would Saban have breezed through this schedule? maybe but we'd still be number 3 in the polls. So FT try not to be Chicken little 24/7. You make some valid points, but then you turn around and scream the sky is falling and we all look up to see a big plane sky writing..................... LSU TIGERS SEC WEST CHAMPS ON TO THE SEC CG GEAUX TIGERS!
I have to agree... On the post-game wrap-up, a caller chimed in with the wonder "Les Miles is the worst coach in LSU history." I couldn't stop laughing then got very sad at the type of fans we seemed to have attracted to LSU...
