By that logic, why do you not believe in Zeus or Allah? Which of the thousand gods should I believe in to be safe?
Thanks for the insult. Open my eyes to what? Is there something I can look at that supports your claim of a deity? Wouldn't god just carry out his will as he chooses? Do you think he really desires something for you, but cannot unless you ask? Pretty arrogant, yes?
USM..........Is that you holding that precious child? When you look at that child, do you simply see a natural function of nature? I see a glorious gift of God. You have mentioned before that you had a real bad experience in a church while you were young. Ever had a bad experience with a woman? I hope it didn't turn you against women. j/k When I have troubles and pray about it, I find what we call a "peace that surpasses all understanding." You are very intelligent and for a non-believer, you seem to know a good bit of the "words" of the Bible. I think you spend a lot of time trying to disprove many things, including His existence. I would love to see how your attitude would be if you really could study with the main intention being to "prove" and be able to accept.
Funny, I think you speak for people with elementary logic and also wearing blinders. Why? Who says so? Why would an omniscient God who knows your thoughts require anything at all from you. Above all, why do you imagine that you know what God wants?
If God and Nature are one and the same, as many believe, then you also see a glorious gift of nature.
ive often heard an answer to prayer being described as "peace". i just dont get it. is there any reason to think that prayer is nothing more than meditation??? and its "answers" are completely physiological? do you not think that other (athiests, buddists, etc) can achieve "peace"? things are always going to happen in life, you'll pray about them all and attribute the moments of relief as answered prayer. but youll forget about the moments when relief doesnt come. or chalk it up to you not following the h.s. it is a very convenient and thinly veiled way to confirm your faith.
