Xavier probably won more T&F national championships in one year than he did score TDs in his entire career.
He was listed as a DE, so I wouldn’t expect him to score TDs. But did even see the field a football player?
Talking about Xavier Carter, the WR/world class track athlete from 20 years ago, not Zavier Carter of The Portal generation.
I'm was very surprised also, but that's the new reality of college football. If these young players don't get what they want that first year, they're off to another program. National Signing Day used to be a huge deal, but the reality is it means very little and it doesn't matter what program you are. Even Alabama has lost a ton of players, simply because today's players are all about themselves.
Edge rusher Ovie Oghoufo portals from Texas to LSU. Already signed, had 54 tackles for UT last year. Was part of Kelly's 2018 signing class at ND, so I'm guessing he only has one year left.
Also, the NCAA made a rule change regarding the portal today. Now, an undergraduate transferring for the second time can only be immediately eligible if he is transferring due to an injury or mental health issues. Trouble with grades? Can't get playing time? You'll have to sit a year. Doesn't apply to graduates.
