Can't blame a player, especially like Ojulari, because he could lose a lot of money if he suffered an injury. I see Alabama announced that Anderson and Young are going to play, but I questioned for how long. I can see Saban getting them to say they're playing just to throw the other team off and then they play a series and sit the rest.
Saban preaches “Value” and you (a football player) increase one’s “Value” by playing. “THAT is how you get ready for the draft.”
I think he would mostly take players back at this point in the rebuilding project. However, down the road he may be less apt to do so? Ultimately, I think it probably depends on the individual person and how deep each position room is.
I think it’s BS sitting out the bowl game. The chance if a serious injury in a single game, though real, is very slim. And if they are that worried, they could probably get an insurance policy .
Well, he was the portal guy last year when we needed to pull in like 16 extra bodies on top of the signing class. Guess he did pretty good? Note that this DL in the portal that LSU offered gives a shout out to Polian - not Cain who would be his position coach: https://twitter.com/ParisShand/status/1602412062914842625 I hope LSU brings in a top ST guy to shore up the shit show we saw this past year. Not sure if Polian needs to be an assistant coach to also be the recruiting coordinator, though? He's apparently very good on the player personnel side, but we all saw how less than stellar our ST room was. BTW, Polian also apparently has a ton of connections for high schools in Hawaii and was the pipeline for ND to recruit a bunch of kids like Mante Te'o and others.
