Those in Congress who grandstanded to make that claim know that it's bullshit, but that there's a bunch of fools around to swallow it. It's about getting a sound bite out into a gullible, bullshit-swallowing public, not about any real dispute with Jackson's judicial record.

 

I agree with you but to treat a Supreme Court Justices during confirmation hearings is, well, par for the course. Like making up rape charges and such. Totally unacceptable and unjustifiable. But this is politics and so now it is the Democrats turn to stand up and act shocked and dismayed.
