UAB's offensive coordinator earlier this week:

"The key for is we just have to go out there and execute and play our game."

The Blazers practiced with amped up crowd noise blaring over loud speakers.

"I think noise can always play a part wherever you go," Owens said about the simulation. "You've just got to be prepared for it."

UAB's head coach earlier this week:

"I have been very fortunate to be around some very good coaches. I worked for Tom Coughlin, John Robinson, Randy Walker, and Bob Petrino.
... Those guys have taught me to be aggressive, and to go for it. I trust myself and I trust my team."

"Our team has shown that we are going to play lights-out, hard-nosed football."

    "We are focused"

On facing LSU QB Zach Mettenberger...
"It's important for any defense to affect any quarterback you are playing, forcing him to make post-snap decisions and not letting him get into a rhythm."

    On LSU's defense ...
"You have to neutralize the defensive front first. That's the plan."

UAB senior LB Jake Ganus on UAB's defensive game plan for LSU:

"Everyone is going to have to do their job. Eleven guys have got to get to the ball every play. The big thing with us is leveraging the ball, so everyone has got to get where they are supposed to be, keep the ball inside, and make tackles."

If you download the LSUSports.net app, it's packed with little tidbits like that.

UAB players on playing in Tiger Stadium:

    Senior LB #4 Jake Ganus
"We played South Carolina and Ohio State last year, so that doesn't really phase me and I don't think it phases anybody else. We are just going to go out there and play the game of football like we know how."

    Junior WR #1 Jamarcus Nelson
"We are very excited but at the same time we have been in situations like that before in Florida my freshman year and then South Carolina and Ohio State last season (my sophomore year)."

    Junior DE #46 Diaheem Watkins
"They are going to have a lot of people there so I just look at it as if all those people are there to watch me"

Is the former Arkansas OC still UAB's head coach?

Yep. His last trip to LSU as the Ark OC, LSU 41-17 an it wasn't that close.
