Eeeh I don't know man. Durant really does seem to like it here. He has opened a restaurant and he is making bank off the court regardless of where he is. I mean really, his endorsements are top of the scale. He did an interview recently and when asked about it he said he would like to have his jersey retired here and hang lots of banners in the arena. That doesn't sound like someone that is ready to bolt.

The other part is if you really look at it, this is his best chance to win those championships and Westbrook is a big piece of that puzzle. They play well together until now. It will be interesting to see how well they mesh when/if KD ever comes back healthy. Russ has taken over this team and he doesn't seem like the guy that will let go of that easily. It could get hairy between the two of them on the court next year. It is bad enough that there are rumors that they already don't get along but I don't think that is true to date. If KD comes back and tells him to calm his ass down that could change REALLY fast.

Bottom line, with the salary cap going WAY up in 2 years, OKC will have more than enough money to resign the both of them and I think they have a better than 50/50 shot to do so. The keys will be #1. How they feel about Scotty Brooks and what if anything the front office does with him and #2 What they do with Enis Cantor, He will command a heavy price on the FA market and the Thunder will probably have to pay more than what they wanted to keep him. I think they will HAVE to do so in order to show Russ and KD they are committed to making a run at a title or more. The time for playing billy ball and doing what you have to in order to stay under the tax has long since passed. They balk on the big man and they may lose all 3.

Yeah they shoulda stopped playing Billy ball when the bearded one was there. Big markets always win out. The plus is Durant is fine being passive so if they can keep him and Ronnie Lott it could be golden. Can they pay cantor image West and kd? Not possible I dont think.

You will never get it will you. They threw what they could at the beard. It was only a few mil less than Houston, he wanted a 5th year. Not possible with the CBA, he wanted to be a starter, wasn't going to happen with "0" in town. To sum it up, he wasn't going to stay regardless so they traded him when they could.

And yes, they can pay Cantor, 0 and KD and keep Ibaka because his contact is locked up for a couple more years. They can offset them. Still be over the cap but you have to pay to win

I don't know enough about the Brooks situation for how they should handle it. My gut says give him next year to get back to the Finals or else.

While a popular label will always be the GOAT in a sport, I think GORN (Greatest of Right Now) is a more interesting debate. I had just considered recently that Westbrook might be the GORN. Not being in the playoffs may change that. If Lebron wins it all, Neanderbrow upsets GS, or if Curry or Harden lead their teams to a championship, then they are the GORN. A championship by Lebron puts him in the GOAT discussion.

Yep, should have. They should have signed David Robinson while they were at it. Had just as good of a shot.

nah the beard was the missing piece. but hey, you got jeremy lamb and kevin martin. and got that adams fella. the only one remaining. 5 pts 4 boards a game or something.

but hey, yall made a great run without him. One semi and conference finals appearance when the golden trio could be vying for their 2nd or 3rd title all in their 20s.

couldnt even beat out the damn pels? this year with westbrook averaging about 50 a game it seemed.

then again, harden played less minutes than fisher and perkins back then so brooks/presti didnt need him apparently. so they did the right thing.

in conclusion, les miles also makes the right decision at quarterback.
