I enjoy going to highly ranked college games. On Sat. I attended the game against Oregon.

I have just one question. Why are there so many rude and obnoxious LSU fans? I am considering encouraging my daughter to go to LSU, but I am really questioning that after going to the game at Cowboys stadium on Saturday. I witnessed not just proud, enthusiastic behavior but rude sadistic crude and shameful behavior for supposed college graduates on more occasions than I could count on both my hands. What is up with your fan base? I witnessed even after you guys had a satisfying quality win against a non-rival team seriously rude taunting (even mothers with there children) that I would be ashamed of were I alumni. Like I said it was ALL over the place. I even saw fans jumping on a rental car that had an Oregon flag. What is up with that? Is that how you do it in Baton Rouge? What is the base for supporting so many people that take the "Tiger-Bait" mentality over board? Even my daughter who was considering the school is now questioning why she would want to be alumnus with those that support this. This is not a taunt but a real question as I just can't understand why all of your fan base continues to support people who behave like this. I heard rumors and now I witnessed it myself and yes, you guys fit all of the stereotypes I had heard about. I went in with an open mind. I love Louisiana as I volunteereed hundreds of hours during Katrina with my medical practice. Obviously it disturbed me enough to come on here and sign up to ask and try to understand how a culture like this is supported. Likewise, I have gone to games all accross the country with rivalries etc. but never have I seen this many fans behave so poorly against another team that was experiencing you for the first time. By the way, in all cases the Oregon fans walked away in all of the cases. No I am not an Oregon fan. Yes, I was dressed in purple and gold in support of my daughter. Yes, I have contributed money to LSU.

First off, I have never seen that in Baton Rouge (Jumping on Cars)

But, just like any university, We have some dumb drunk over paid idiots that rep our Tigers. In no way do I condone that behavior or defend it, I think it was really just lashing out by our fans and reacting to the arrogant and snide comments made all day Thursday & Friday by Oregon fans. As a Tiger fan I have felt hated before, but after JJ was involved in that fight and reading some of the things posted on chats by Marines and the rest of the country, it was awful! Then since we were facing all that some Duck fans just used that as ammunition as why we were going to get our asses handed to us. I guess when we finally won, the “I told you so attitudes’” were pretty harsh. I wasn’t there, but I have seen it before from fans of Multiple schools. UT has some very bad ones!

People in Louisiana are easy targets and after Katrina it just got worse trust me. As sad and pathetic as it is to rub someone about Katrina, people take some of the lowest of low cheap shots at us about that stuff. Comments that they will have to explain when they reach the gates of Heaven.

I'll leave with this, as you posted above, I support our Tigers and I won’t stop because we have idiotic fans, I’m not their father or friend. But if that makes me one of the fans you are speaking of (Which I am not) then so be it. But for you come on here and type this as if you have given up with LSU fans and basically just said you saw for yourself that we are what you heard we are, and you group us all together, that makes you just as ignorant as the idiotic fans

I hope you have a great day!

I spent most of the day out there tailgating, never saw any of this. We invited a bunch of Oregon fans over to eat and drink(Many took the invite). I've been all over the states catching games. I did have an Oregon drunk start something with me, won't go into details. But if it would have continued, he would have missed kickoff.

Absolutely, on the contrary to what he posted, I have heard 10 times more good about LSU fans hospitality, than that of what he probably saw 2 or 3 groups doing.

It seems to me that he was probably ONLY looking for the bad fans as he passed all the great ones. :dis:

To add, some of the Duck want to make a LSU home game. I gave out my E-Mail addy, an gave an invite. Even after the game, the Tiger fans were doing great, everyone was talking football.

Two years ago we started the season up in Seattle, everyone there told me that the LSU fans ate more, drank more and tipped better than any group. They want us back.

I didn't see any bad behavior by any LSU fans and I was there for at least an hour after the game. Of course, it could have happened just saying that I did not witness it.

But you have to understand that your post registers off the charts as a troll. Winning programs make easy, frequent targets. The idea that you would seek out a internet fan forum for answers to your questions is crazy. Would our answers really help you guide your daughter to a college choice? And please reread your post...it doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in you having a medical practice. The educational system has truly failed you if you have graduated from high school.

Several of my friends went to the game and none of them witnessed anything like this.
However, many duck fans made some prejudice comments on droppings that had to do with southerners dumb, inbred, racist etc.
Comments like that were also made on some Oregon forums that were linked to droppings.
Then there was the bar-brawl that frustrated the tiger fans. 67% of the US predicted (or should I say wanted) the ducks to win.
Add alcohol into the equation and of course some fans will behave in a bad way.
I don't believe alot of what I've read from duck fans. I believe that a lot of it is exaggerated due to humilation. And I also believe EVERY school has their share of idiots.

I am sure there are cases all over the country. My point was that I was shocked. I am sure there are some cases with Oregon fans, but I did not witness any. I am sure Oregon fans were PRIOR to the game rude etc. I am addressing POST the victory when everyone should be happy. I did witness some LSU fans being nice and offering drinks and food to Oregon fans. All in all I witnessed hatred. What I don't get is I would get it if this were Alabama or Auburn etc. My point is not to insult. If I did that then I stand corrected. My point is to try to understand because even LSU 4 Life showed me that he really does not get it. At the end of the day, I was looking to show my daughter a class act by a class school. No matter what Duck fans said nor any amount of arrogance did it witness that type of behavior and I figured you guys could perhaps show me a reason for the culture that is all. Yes many other schools have bad apples. I have researched and consistently LSU comes up with regard to not just the fan behavior, but for the support of such. I wanted to find out if people actually think it is acceptable. In my mind, I would think it would be twice as humiliating for the opposing teams fans when your team beats them and then you are proud but not rude showing a little class that's all. Again, my point was not to insult but to understand. That's it. Wish you all well. And, anyone that even mentions Katrina to y'all is classless too I agree.

Booze will do this to people, this is everywhere, I've seen it.

Another quick story. A good friend of mines daughter was offered by just about every school in the nation (Fla., ND, Stanford and LSU were her final teams). She figured a visit to LSU during the LSU/Fla. football game would be the one to attend. After tailgating and the game, she called home and said to her family, this is the place I want to attend. She told me that she always thought out West is were she was heading.
