Our stylish losses did help a few years back. Undefeated in regulation is almost as catchy as no new taxes.
Many other powerhouses in the SEC will be in the same boat as LSU next year with a brand new QB, etc. Georgia, Bama, aTm, South Carolina to name a few. The playing field will be more level than you think. As long as LSU keeps recruiting like they do, there is no reason to panic.
THis recruiting is going the way of College Basketball. You need to balance skills with how long they will be around. To me, that is a killer in B-ball.
No panic. Just don't expect a ton next year. 9-3 would be an excellent year. Some will be looking for a shot at the national championship.
For your sake... Hope you drink --- As it sounds like for you to enjoy next season, you will either need to eat a lot of crow and/or drink a lot of cocktails.
I really won't be surprised to see TEs and backs getting thrown to a few times each this weekend. Last years game was pretty damn exciting. Till the last 2 minutes. Going to be interesting to see what CLM and Cam dial up for Bama. I'm more worried about the defense than anything.
Nah, don't drink at all. I'll enjoy it, as I will have my lowered expectations temper my frustration with the team.
I sure don't drink nearly as much as I used to, but I'm a fan and understand your point about unrealistic expectations. Personally, I can easily live with not winning when I think the team gives a good accounting of itself, but games like the 0/21 NCG and a lesser extent, this year's Ole Miss game do hurt. Unfortunately, you are right to look at the youth in next year's offense and not expect too much, but still, next year's offense should be better than what we have seen in recent years (except for this year's offense which I think will really excel on Saturday). Next year's offense just might be a lot of fun to watch and cheer for. As for now, I sure am looking forward to this Saturday's game.
Cam Cameron will hopefully be the equalizer next year. If the defense matures and finds itself, then we will definitely field a highly competitive team once again.
