Oh geez, tell me they didn't come out flat vs Va Tech or Colorado, St. I'm not going to look hip all the stats from other seasons a it has gotten too hard but yes Bama has come out flat in several games since Nick has been there. And it happened at LSU as well.
So, you don't think USC had many of the same issues with losing games against teams they should have beaten damn near every year under Petey. While not playing near the level of talent in the PAC.
Yep, he ain't perfect. He has has some problems in games, he has lost games his team should have won, he has made some boneheaded decisions, he has also won a shitload of big games during his tenure here, been to 2 national championship games, 4 SEC championship games, beat some incredible teams and keeps trying to win more big games. Why the hell would a loss in a national championship game make him go soft, if anything that had the reverse effect. But you can believe what you want to believe and I'll believe what I want to believe and that is Miles is the same guy with the same competitive fire as he always had. We are in the most competitive division in the most competitive conference and we are going to have some tough losses, if Miles starts losing and doesn't compete for championships often then I'll want a change to be made. But I ain't going to predict gloom and call for his head, I'll wait until the games are played and look at the results. We were one loss away from playing for a national championship last year, we played for the national championship the year before, if we had UK on our schedule this year like we were supposed to we could have been facing Bama and aTM this year with a great chance to win the west this season. And we knew this year was going to be a struggle with the losses we had, we knew that UGA and Ole Miss had offenses that were going to give us fits. I'm going for the best vs Bama and aTm but would not be surprised if we lose both. Or win both.
I agree with that although I do believe their schedule has helped them a wee bit. And of course they should have loss 2 games last year.:-(
I think it was obvious from when these schedules came out that Alabama and A&M had the 2 easiest by far.
Granted, the team did come out with little emotional drive against CSU. I do believe that has to be taken in context considering who the head coach at CSU is, right? 28 points in the first half against Va Tech—coupled with what their defense has proven itself to be this season—isn't flat. The offense did have difficulty getting on track in that opener. Shouldn't that be weighed against the number of facets we call a good performance—offense, defense, and special teams? I believe there's one thing that needs to be taken into consideration here. It's what you don't see. You don't see this Bama team struggling to win games since they've began to find their stride. You haven't seen comments like "pulling away in the second half." They're taking care of business (hate using that cliche' but it does fit) and beating the teams like they should be beaten. Should I assume that LSU is going to come out flat based on what happened against Furman? It would be ludicrous for me to do so. Should Tiger fans assume, based on schedule strength, that the Tide team isn't going to be ready for a smash-mouth football game? It would be equally as ludicrous for you to do so.
Pete Carroll was paying his players and got his university on probation. That's not a great example. I sat behind the bench for the Arkansas game in '11. The players were having lots of fun that day. I feel like they're going to have fun on the 9th, too. Les' teams play their best when no one gives them a chance.
I have an idea, Alabama should intentionally lose to LSU in Tuscaloosa, that would automatically vault them into the national championship game.
Holy shit--it looks like they're having fun. But, wait. Isn't that a bad thing? Saban's players don't look like they're having too much fun.
